Rocky! We definitely need more new threads from you. Don´t overdo it now. One a day for the morning coffee would be nice, so we just get confirmed we can control ourselves and refrain from getting hot coffee in our lungs.

Crikey, a bit of humour from you, nice change. Most times you are the cranky, stick in the mud type of guy.

If you put an IMHO it would be fine. But a part time budget tourist really should not be making statements like this. Krabi is a huge province especially when you factor in the marine part of it. Phi Phi, boat tours out to Koh Phai and Koh Yung. Then you have Koh Hong and the four island tour, Koh Poda, Koh Gai and Koh Tub and Koh Mor which emerge with the tides and can be walked to from Koh Gai.

That is the marine side and earlier in this thread I gave other very interesting sites mostly off the tourist trail.

Been to all the islands. Too busy now.

Have you ever been to Thailand? I would say no or you just do Pattaya. You never talk about it which means you know nothing. Not sure why you post here as you are always bitter and nasty.

Never been to Nepal. I don't need to lie to impress people. It bothers you I've seen most of Thailand and you have not. Your ego is hurting.

I asked a simple question about how he stays here ,seeing he's not retired or a millionaire. They only way is as a tourist, staying awhile but he just said he's been to all the islands and 100 cities. Thailand has over 1400 islands, which would take quite awhile to see all of them, a lifetime in fact unless you are a millionaire with nothing else to do.

The more that's mentioned, the more he's already been there, at least 3 times.

If he was 128 years old and rich I could see it possibly happening, but extremely hard unless you only went to a place and left for another in a half hour. I highly doubt anyone alive has been to all of Thailand's islands, even locals who have money. That goes for all of Thailand's cities. Most locals will never see 10 provinces in their lifetimes, and they live here.

Thailand only has about 2 dozen islands with developed hotels. The national park islands are done on tours. Nobody goes to 100 islands. In Krabi and Trang they have 4 or 5 stops for snorkelling.

I was visiting Thailand 15 years before you arrived. You sit in Sisaket with a kid lecturing people. That's why you have not visited many islands.

Snorkelling trips are often 500 baht to 1000 baht for longtail or ferry.

Thais go on them. Most people on the Emerald cave tours are Thais.

If you find one reply towards another without an assumption you win the prize. I've been to a few Thai islands and know there are over 1400 you can visit. When a person says they've been to every one, they should be a tad more specific you would think, and say I've been to those with hotels, which means they have money or mom's paying the bill. .

Again, how does one stay here with no retirement , marriage, independent or work visa? Visiting Thailand for over 25 years and still under 45? Some have and eventually moved here, but why keep coming to Thailand if you have enough money to travel? Does it mean 25 years ago they visited, then came back last year, and say they've been coming to Thailand 25 years? I guess that could be true.

Some also don't understand what the responsibilities children bring, that you can't travel as much as a single nomad with none.

Also, no one alive has seen most of Thailand. Major cities, easy, a few islands, yes, but there are thousands of villages ,cities and islands here, along with many provincial parks, mountainous areas, and waterways which most Thais will never see.

Agree with those, one of best places in North, and can't beat being on the water at Krung Thep, with so many interesting spots just a pier stop away.

Too bad about Phuket, as my 1st experience, 25+ yrs ago, and was the hook that got me to return.

Life is a mirror. That shu guy is nasty. Why would I be nice to him. He does not deserve any respect. He is strange. Joins a Thai forum to tell a stranger he has never been there. The bloke has no idea what he is talking about.

Khunla and Paddy Doyle have seen most of Thailand. It is small compared to the USA.

That number comes from google. Boat trips take people to the best spots which is far less than that.

But they both have lived in Thailand a long time.

So you only travel to Thailand repeatedly and incessantly?

No other country?

You are a traveling salesman?

A gypsy who earns extra cash on travels with fortune-telling?

Doyle only 12 years. Not that long. Many people visit Thailand for 30 or 40 years. Doyle can't even speak much Thai.

He claims he never goes to girly bars.

Odd obsession with one place on the planet.

You're different, though. You go to all corners of Thailand.

You must have been Thai in a previous lifetime to be so obsessed with the place.

Why not move permanently? What's holding you back in your home country?

Im too young to retire. Also get bored in one spot. Plus the visas are no good. Other guys do what i do. One guy works 7 days a week for 6 months then stays in thailand for 6. I think like a Thai. Probably Thai in a past life.

Not much if anything in TH, is 'world class', IMHO Not a dig, just reality, if you been elsewhere. I can get the 'Asian flare' at any Chinatown section of any major USA city. Though may have to plead ignorance, as never been to China, S. Korea or Japan.

There is one museum that I consider "World Class. I have written about it previously.

"Anek Kusala Sala", aka, "Viharn Sern'. In Hua Yai, outside of Pattaya.

It is a four story Chinese-Thai museum, funded and built by the Chinese Thai Businessman's Association, commemorating the 50th year of King Rama-9' reign.

It has a stunning collection of genuine Chinese statuary, weapons, musical instruments, ceramics and other items from various dynasties going back to the Qin dynasty of Xiang's "Terra Cotta Warriors". It is the only museum outside of China to have on permanent loan a genuine example of one of those warriors along with weapons and ancient chariots. It has a beautiful and very large diorama of the Great Wall.

On the upper floors are extensive collections of musical instruments, Thai wood carvings, theatrical costumes and many other fascinating objects.

Off the front of the 2nd level is an outdoor terrace with a great collection of dynamic life size, stone martial arts positions with amazing detail.

Admission was B50 my last time there. Thai's are B20 IRRC. There is a nearby lake with noodle shops and fish feeding. If you look, there is also an aviary with many species of interesting birds.

If you have a car or motorbike, the road that accesses the museum then goes up a beautiful small mountain road with a lovely forest surrounding it. In that forest is a sanctuary and rehab center for injured wild animals.

The nearby temple complex, Wat Yanasangwararam is worth a visit as well. The well known Buddha Mountain is about 2km away. For a total change of venue, about 6kms is "Coffee Wars", a combination of ghost aircraft storage/ Vietnam war salvage yard and Army-Navy Store, all wrapped into one.

Don't give me too much credit for my Thai, as I certainly couldn't hold a conversation. Was much better 20 yrs ago, when I was single for about 4 yrs prior. Out of necessity, as use to prowl the Thai venues.

Pretty sure I forgot, more Thai than I remembered. You really don't need to speak Thai here now, as anyone under 50 understands English enough. Especially those that don't go to Nakhon Nowhere.

Mickey Stotch is pretty fluent, and embarrassing watching his vids. But a necessity for him also, as O&A by himself in Nakhon Nowhere.

I never needed to learn or use Thai, hence the ignorance.

Not necessary to get by, but a personal thing. Knowing how to ask for directions, order food, greetings, and a few more are all you need. The rest is what a phone's translator is for. Wanting a wife is different, unless she can speak your language there will be problems, as communication is one of the top three things .

I lived near San Antonio for 32 years and got good enough with the Mexican language to communicate enough to get by there also, especially regarding the food ordering. There's thousands of Hispanics that live in Texas that can't speak much English and they get by fine.

The visas for Thailand are great, easy and very inexpensive. You definitely don’t think like a Thai. No chance you were Thai in a past life. Keep dreaming.
