Most overrated bands of all time

Featured Replies

One thing I always think when music begins to be discussed.

I always feel that some people who share think that their taste in music and knowledge of the backgrounds of artists and songs makes them rockstars.

To me they just sound pathetic.

"Well at that time the artist was influenced by the Bulgarian avant garde poet and cheese sculptor Otto Bann..." blah, blah, blah.

Hendrix hated Floyd.

Jimi was right i like some PF stuff but their music is too simple. Basically 3 chords. The blues rock genre is some of the best with talented musicians. Jazz fusion is also good for similar reasons. No lyrics is a plus too.

Music ended in the 80s.

For more information, relisten.

Back in the day, I listened to different music, but it was not.

By saying that you have admitted that you know very little about the Hip Hop genre. The thug life aspect is just one part of it, it represents a minority of contemporary Hip Hop and in no way shape or form does it represent Progressive or Underground Hip Hop, nor trip hop, which tends to have a far more positive message. Hip hop is a vast genre and it is here to stay.

Hip Hop has followed a similar arc to reggae - It peaked by the mid 90s (late 70s for reggae).
Like reggae, it will always be about but it's degenerated and will never recover to what it was - bar a good tune here and there.

Some gems in here on 7"

Never heard of Rush.

Lucky! It's "classical music" played in such a limited heavy metal style that every song sounds the same and the singer is a Canadian, who unlike Neil Young can't sing and sounds like he just took a ice bath plunge before screeching whatever nonsense words these cretins wrote.

Not a thing you missed. 🤣

It did have its heyday. The 80s through the mid 2000s. Not alot of great hip hop since then.
