I agree.

But for me personally they aren't "bands" either.

Musical artists then. After 1995 what great ones have emerged?

Morrison's band was called Them in the early days. The others have musicians around them. Paul Simon used a lot of very talented people.

That was not the question

AC/DC's Bon Scott period was great. Check out their live album If You Want Blood You've Got It. Classic masterpiece.

You want to change the OP, as all of your listed "bands" came out before 1995.

Not interested in that anymore.

Commercial success does not necessarily indicate quality… I do love Metallica and Pantera though. Saw Metallica at the 2006 Rock am Ring, and Phil Anselmo's Down at the 2009 Hellfest.

Mettalica are the gods of metal. No other band close to them imo. Best gym music.

The Beatles
U2
Coldplay
The Police

Music is a matter of personal preference. A lot of crappy musicians have made it big with a one hit wonder.

Agree. But calling Queen "cheesy" and ACDC "crap" was just too much for my taste.

Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All… the golden treble.

Agree Coldplay. Very soft flimsy songs. The others had good songs but The Beatles were way more famous than they should have been. U2 have great songs but some awful pop ones too. Sting was better after The Police broke up.

The ultimate example being Patrick Hernandez, who still makes 1,500 euros per day with one song, Born to be Alive.

The Doors, especially Jim Morrison.

Springsteen. Clarence Clemons was quite good though, as was Nils Lofgren, and liked him as solo artist before he joined.
