Why would a tourist, having been in Pattaya only a few days, be riding in the back of a pickup truck full of local people?

Ever been on a baht bus? They're mostly pickup trucks, chock full of tourists and locals.

The vehicle was not a baht bus and has never been reported as such. Just because some posters make assumptions, it does not change the facs.

Omg, try and imagine someone in the back of a truck (which is open) they want to get the drivers attention so they decide to stand up and bend forward (at the waist) and knock on the drivers window, or if the window was down they lean too far in order to be heard, they slip and fall over the side? Or if in the case of an argument is it possible for you to imagine there are two people in the back and one pushes the other over?

Don't know what you are on about, but I think the accident happened just as you say here, and I suggested earlier. Still hard to believe someone can be so stupid.
