Does that mean visits to the Immigration Department for the 90 days report will cease?

An app? 555. What could possibly go wrong.

The App looks pretty good, looking forward to using it.

Well perhaps some airports have them, but LAX sure doesn't, and that's one of the major West Coast airports.

I believe you! I avoid LAX like the plague. Horrible airport. You have to take a shuttle bus between terminals which can take forever, TSA is a cluster duck, restaurant choices are awful, every airline lounge is dirty smelly and overcrowded.

I used it when I flew out a couple of weeks ago and it was very smooth and there were no lines.

Good on Thailand for this, if only backwards nations like America would start using advanced systems, that would be amazing.

So now in addition to immigration, 5G networks and fiber optic are three times faster in Thailand than they are in America at a third the price, that's what I call progress.

So true, I was having a drink with a fellow Englishman on holiday a week or so ago. He was telling me that he has just bought Elon Musks satellite internet in order to get 35mbps. He said a lot of places in UK only have about 10mbps. When I told him my broadband averages 300mbps up load and download for around 500 Baht a month he nearly cried, and I am in the back of beyond.

That is a dream that will take decades... Thailand and especially Thai Immigration like to have copies.. The more the better. Even for 90 days reporting.... They have never heard of scan documents I believe,

"Even for 90 days reporting...." ??? You mean you are not using the online system that works perfectly??? Perhaps the "people" who are behind the times ... need a mirror?

Contrary to the fossil brigade on AN I [positively] embrace any change that may, or may not, contribute to a less hassle. Downloaded the app this morning and look very much forward to using. Well done IM

It already does that, if you want. You can do TM47 online. It just doesn't work if you've entered from abroad or have a new passport. In that case, you have to go to immigration. Subsequent notifications will then be available online again.

I also welcome the new technology to reduce hassles. However the IO's need to also embrace it. When renewing my retirement visa last week I was accused of a 90 day overstay becasue I didnt have an exit stamp in my passport (used the auto gates). I politely told her no and to check her computer which will show that I left well before the 90 day reporting date. I'm not sure she did check but she fell silent and processed the extension with a smile.

Or fossils ??giggle

Seems the app has been launched in a rush, probably to have something show off at the AWS Summit 2026. They talk about "AI-powered passport scanning to complete a one-time registration process" but once in the app there is no way to complete registration. No doubt all will be completed in time and they will then have a system as good as Cambodia, and others, already do.

Immigration officials say the system is designed to cut processing times at border checkpoints to less than three minutes.

Interesting statement, given that immigration announced six months ago that screening only takes 45 seconds:

"he assured that screening will remain efficient, taking no longer than 45 seconds per person"

This is hardly a new announcement it was introduced last year and I used it three times in December when I returned to Thailand after making trips outside the country.

I found it easy to use and had no problem when using my mobile phone.

The online 90-day reporting doesn't really work perfectly, as it cannot be used the first time after you come back to Thailand from abroad. So that makes it useless for me.

That's TDAC. This is THIM.

Maybe you are think of TDAC, because this new app THIM was only introduced yesterday, 28 May 2026.

Perhaps read the article next time. This will expand on the TDAC making it much easier to use and store your information. It will also be expanded to make other immigration transactions easier. Hope it makes life easier. Worth a go for sure.

I don't think so, it will only be another way to do it. The other mentioned transactions like online visa extension services and digital 90-day reporting are still existing as webversion!

Same same, but different.

Yes, it is true that the first 90-Day must be in person, then after that ... online works perfectly. But, the reality is ... the decision to bitch and moan about the "difficulty" of 90-Day reporting by people who refuse to use the online system, (which I have been doing for YEARS without a hitch) ... is a CHOICE the person complaining makes. It is like a person deciding to walk when free transit is available, then complaining that the choice they made (!) resulted in their feet hurting. Up to you han-sum man! Up to you! 555

I did read the article and thought it was the same thing I will stand in the naughty boys corner for making a silly mistake.

Isn’t it good that we have people like you keeping us on the straight and narrow.

If you go to the office you need the form copy passport fotopage, copy visa page and copy latest entry

Downloaded the app created my first trip, Per-Bkk in October 26.

Received an instance email with the following

Screenshot 2026-05-29 at 10.59.41.png

Will find out in October if it goes as expected

I would love to see this happening everything on line especially the yearly retirement visa but can't see it

The amount of paperwork involved especially on the marriage retirement visa

Plus look how people are involved in the Immigration visas system network country wise

How many would be laid off work

Can't see it happening for a long time yes the border controls okay other than that forget it

Make sure you don't log out of the app. Doing so deletes the trip. Likely that will change if/when they introduce the one-time registration they speak of.

One annoying thing about TDAC was that it didn't save information. Adding an account that saves information was an obvious next step.

Hopefully what they're thinking of doing is pre-screening arrivals, such that many people could go through automated entry gates. Like repeat visitors who don't have a history of stringing together visa exempts into a half year stay. Or those with a long term visa just coming back.

Upload your ticket(s)/itinerary, upload hotel reservations or other accommodation info, and a bank statement showing whatever minimum. They review, and if ok, you get an email saying you can use the automated lanes on arrival. Something like that. They already have your picture and fingerprints, so you could scan passport and one of the hands and it takes a new picture and gate opens.

TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) = The requirement itself.
It's the digital form that replaced the old paper TM6 arrival card. You must submit your details (passport, flight, accommodation, etc.) before arriving in Thailand.

THIM (Thai Immigration Management System) = The new mobile app launched on 28 May 2026.
It’s essentially a better, dedicated mobile interface for submitting the TDAC.

Just searched for it (29th May 2026), 1 day after you claim it was launched, on both Apple & Android phones. Nothing there yet.

THIM is scheduled to launch on Oct 1 2026. a basic google search would have told you the correct launch date.
