Gay marriage was passed by the Australian government after a national poll of Aussies agreed in a majority vote to allow gay marriage. The autopsy, showing cause of death, and possibly other forensic material found in the room, will determine what he is charged with.

It's possible she died of a self induced drug overdose, or even a medical episode like a heart attack, he panicked, and disposed of the body. Tampering with a crime scene / disposing of a body is still a crime, but the CCTV footage alone is not evidence of murder.

Denying everything tends to show he has killed her, and whilst the CCTV footage is extremely strong circumstantial evidence, it do not prove murder alone.

An Australian man has been arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport while allegedly attempting to leave Thailand after police linked him to the death of a 17-year-old Thai girl whose body was later found concealed inside a suitcase beside railway tracks in Pattaya, Chon Buri.

Police from Pattaya City Police Station coordinated with immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi Airport to detain 46-year-old Australian national Mr Simon Peter Carman at around 7pm on 26 June. Officers said he was preparing to buy a ticket to return to Australia when he was stopped. The suspect denied any involvement in the teenager’s disappearance despite CCTV footage and other evidence gathered during the investigation.

The investigation began after 17-year-old Thanchanok, from Kalasin province, was reported missing by a friend after she could not be contacted for more than 24 hours. Police traced CCTV footage showing the teenager entering a condominium on Jomtien Second Road, with Mr Carman at 3.34am on 25 June. The pair were seen entering room 20 on the 15th floor, but only the Australian was later seen leaving.

Investigators said CCTV captured Mr Carman dragging a large black suitcase from the condominium at 9.34pm on 25 June before loading it onto a Yamaha Aerox motorcycle. He then rode towards Sukhumvit Road, turned into Chaiyaphruek 2 Road and travelled along the railway road, disappearing from cameras for more than nine minutes. He later returned to the condominium without the suitcase, prompting police to suspect it contained the missing teenager’s body.

After searching the route, police discovered, in the early hours of 27 June 2026, a 26-inch black suitcase abandoned beside railway tracks about 4.2 kilometres from the condominium. Inside was the body of a young woman, folded up inside the case and covered with a brown cloth. She was naked and had extensive facial injuries, with blood visible around her mouth and nose. Police said the victim had been dead for about two days. Her physical appearance and tattoos matched those of Thanchanok, although formal identification and a post-mortem examination at the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine are still required.

Police also examined the condominium room, where they reported signs of a struggle. Mr Carman was found with scratches on his neck and arms, which officers believe are consistent with defensive wounds. During questioning, he reportedly claimed the teenager had left the room while he was asleep and insisted he knew nothing about her disappearance.

Daily News reported that the Pattaya Provincial Court issued an arrest warrant, before the body was found, charging Mr Carman with abducting a minor under the age of 18 from the custody of her parents or guardian for indecent purposes. Police said they do not accept his explanation and are continuing their investigation while considering further legal action as forensic results become available.

That wouldn't happen at the Nana hotel in Bangkok because near the lift doors a security guard has a set up and takes the I.D. card of all visiting females that are with a guest and when she returns the guard rings the room and asks if everything o.k. If ir is she gets her I.D. back and goes on her way.

Yes it is great to see crack fast RTP police work when elsewhere on this website the Police esp. Immigration are said to be more complicit in crime and corruption than solving it.

The family's desire to find out what motivated the murder, isn't, of course, a question of determining whether the murder was justified or not. It's driven by the basic human desire to know what happen and why it happened. It's the same need for closure that drives a family's need to be told where remains can be recovered or to hear a confession, even when there is already other overwhelming evidence that they are guilty.

My theory is that this was an 'I am under 18' extortion attempt that turned violent. I have heard of cases where the woman becomes hysterical, destroys the room, and demands a large sum of money. Regardless, that gives him absolutely no excuse for killing her

It seems that people don't bother to read what comes beforehand before posting.

I prefer to do so, rather than to risk looking a fool for not doing so. Sometime updates are posted by members before the official updates by Admin, as they may have to do translations etc before publishing.
