Perhaps reparations should not include lump sum cash payments. Perhaps developing their original lands to be productive and modern would create customers and future trade partners. The word reparations is open to interpretation, inviting partnerships.

As for the Australian indigeonous people that you quoted they never owned the land.They had no title.They has no cities or towns , no designated properties and no government .They were nomads that roamed the country and set up camp usually near a river or waterhole and hunted for food. When that was depleted they moved on to a cave or another suitable campsite. So when white man arrived they did not TAKE their land because they never had ownership of it in the first place they only occupied it.
