I have an app on my phone with my shopping list I add to as required, and an album with pictures of a few things too, especially when the writing on the packet or whatever is only in Thai.

Nothing unusual in having your phone help you when shopping.

He wasn't checking his phone before deciding what to eat. He was checking his phone to make sure he was in a 7/11. Yes, don't read the signage, look at your phone location and a pin on a map. Then, post on your Facebook page that you are at a 7/11 in Surat Thani, as if people care. 🤣 🤣

OP too long for me to read, but all the instant info available now via internet is a Buddha send, welcomed and way better than any version of traveling info, in the past without that infomation.

Shame many can't seem to use it to their advantage and are still disappointed during their holidays after spending their hard earn money.

If you start with Gmap, it has basically all the info needed (for TH), with links in listing to even book your accommodations via Booking.com or Agoda.

Reviews, photos, vids, ph #, a call button, directions, sat. photos, topography, streetview, booking links all within reach of your hands 24/7. What more is needed.

Top it off, it's ALL FREE to use.

I found scan to pay to be really handy. It's a pity that they decided that I am not allowed to have a bank account any longer. That's why I haven't been back in almost two years.

The problem is, as another member pointed out, humans are losing their ability to think for themselves.

Then, throw social media in, which is turning people into "sheeple" and you can see that the internet / phones is having a big impact on human behavior, some for the good, some for the bad.

They seem to believe everything and anything they see & hear as fact, without any thought of verifying. Strange if that info actually would have an effect on them personally, they don't research it more.

I see health and food claims, that are silly or not so silly, and research then, or studies of what they claimed, and most misrepresented for clicks.

With AI the way its, and how people use it for comedy, it's amazing people don't suspect everything they hear and see. Baby Trump vids are a great example or the gorilla thingy talking.

Here's a silly news blip that used a YT'er channel I follow ... as he points out, just getting 'out of control' ...

If the last 3 USA elections cycles didn't prove you can't believe anything any more, now matter what side of fence you're on, then you really are the sheeple they want.
