I was making the point to only buy products with Brand Names.

Malls first then brand names with many reviews has worked for me and lastly non brand products that the 3 star and under reviews confirm it is probably OK ( I ignore 5 star reviews and anything that mention bubble wrap - Thais seem to care more about bubble wrap than the product ). I buy loads and can't remember being ripped off. Bought many items that were crap but I knew that was a possibility.

Be like me - never mop floors........ :)

Shopping, in our family, is more than just buying goods. It has a social aspect to it as well. Often meet friends for coffee or lunch at the same time. Wife likes to look around and do some window shopping as well. Get a bit of exercise walking around.

Can also pay bills and do some banking if required. Sure this can be, and is, done online if desired but I enjoy human interaction, particularly if there is a problem. I detest online help.

Not exactly hunter/gatherer stuff but fullfills the spiritual need we have inherited from our ancestors.

Agreed just buy from the official stores and you should be fine. I just bought an Oppo phone from Oppo. I saw it cheaper on sites named xyJP123 etc but not worth the risk. Asking for trouble. Same as if you see a 512 gb SD card priced the same as a 64 gb card, clearly fake.

This only works if the shop has oversight by the company as there’s fake counterfeit garbage everywhere, even though the Levi’s shop in the cm Central Festival has genuine products, it also has counterfeit Levi’s clothing because the regional Levi’s representative has either gone slack or doesn’t give a damn.

I rang Laz customer service and gave them the phone number of that delivery guy.

Though I'm not sure something will change. Didn't order so far since.

There doesn't always seem to be only one "official store" similar names sometimes so best to be careful. If I'm in doubt i see if i can find the item from a physical store. I don't think you should blindly buy from the "official" store before doing checks

I want to add that I was looking for some magnesium glycinate. I saw one advertised, and could read the US company phone number on the bottle in the ad. I called the number and they told me that they have never made that product in the strength advertised.

I bought a name brand vacuum on Lazada and did not look carefully enough as the name brand had a slight misspelling which was intentionally misleading. I got it and it was Chinese garbage which did not work at all. Fortunately as usual Lazada was willing to let me return it for a full refund.

One has to look very careful at the descriptions, and sometimes it's not easy as sometimes they're only in Thai.

I often contact the seller to ask specific questions and sometimes that's helpful. Lazada is a great source as long as you do your homework.

Why brings a mop from overseas? in overhead luggage? not even i would do that, the Makro one i bought Scotchbrite 3M T7+ is very good quality for 750 baht

Really surprised that things like mops are bought online. The amount of money one can save is peanuts. "Cleaning stuff" I buy in Thaiwatsadu, regardless if mop or cleaning agents etc. I guess Makro would also have everything.

A mobile wich costs > 6'000 bhat I also buy only in a shop. If there is a issue on warranty I can go to the shop.

Ordered once a "JBL boomsbox" on Lazada - and the price was so low I knew from the beginning it's a fake. Worked fine - but it didn't charge. 2-3 photos, a short video was able to send back and got it refunded. Took another shot from a different offer, about the same price - and it works.

Solar panels: from 28 pcs. 2 were shattered. There of course you check on arrival.

Made a request and ordered before the request was answered 2 new panels again.

Everything went smoothly.

I never had any issues so far with Lazada if a product wasn't working or damaged.

Bought a 'genuine' Honda strimmer (weed whacker) on Lazada........suspiciously cheap.......after a week it was using more oil than petrol.

Spoke to the shop who sold it and they would only respond.......... "it's built from genuine Honda parts"........bought a proper one off LazMall.

There's been a wave of Samsung T7 fakes from China selling for silly money. Portable SSDs for a little over 1000 baht are obviously too good to be true, and obvious fakes. Beware buying SSDs and SD cards especially. Only buy those from flagship stores.

Lazada had a shipping issue in my area, everytime the item was sent by "LEX" thats Lazadas own shipping, they wouldnt deliver! kept saying no one home etc - I had to go to the warehouse and get it, staff there said "dont buy on Lazada until end of July- wont get delivered". I switched most of my online stuff to Shopee now instead.

This is a major prolem:

a. When the delivery driver states no-one at home, the drivers, and the delivery company, get paid anyway.

b. This causes lack of incentive to deliver.

c. These companies are getting worse, rather than improving.

d. These days, it is almost impossible to contact either company and speak with a human to file a complaint.

e. Far better to buy locally from a real retailer.

I nearly bought something yesterday, had 20 great reviews. I checked the dates of the reviews and all done in 48hrs, guess the vendor and their friends were busy.

I normally buy from the official store, just collect vouchers and wait for the mid month or 5/5, 6/6 sales, get some good deals from them.
