Police in Chonburi are continuing to search for Russian siblings Diana Nazimova, 22, and Roman Nazimova, 17, who disappeared after leaving their Huay Yai home before dawn on 26 July 2026.

The case intensified after parts of their Honda ADV motorcycle, registration 4 Kor Sor 6379 Chonburi, were found buried in two locations at the old Thung Luang cemetery in Bang Lamung district. More than 200 police, officials, rescue workers and local residents were deployed in the surrounding forest on 29 July, but the pair had not been found by that evening.

Timeline of the disappearance

At about 4am on 26 July, the brother and sister left their home at Bristol Park village in Huay Yai on the Honda motorcycle. Their mother believes they were heading to a convenience store, but they then lost contact.

CCTV reviewed by police reportedly showed the two travelling back from the Map Ta Phut-Najomtien motorway towards a parallel road. They stopped for around two minutes to speak with unidentified men on another motorcycle, before all travelled in the direction of Chak Ngaeo Road near Wat Yang Yai.

Their mother, Zarina, reported them missing at Huay Yai Police Station on 28 July. She told officers that neither sibling could speak Thai, adding to the family's concerns. Police began reviewing cameras along possible routes and appealed for public information.

Motorcycle parts found in old cemetery

On the morning of 29 July, local leaders found dismantled motorcycle parts buried at the old Thung Luang cemetery, Moo 9, Huay Yai, near Chak Taeng junction and about 200 metres from the Najomtien-Map Ta Phut motorway road.

Officers found the motorcycle separated and buried in two pits roughly 100 metres apart. One contained suspension parts, front and rear wheels, the engine and body panels. The other contained the frame, seat, handlebars and further bodywork.

Chonburi Forensic Science officers seized the parts for DNA, bloodstain and fingerprint examinations. Police said the discovery shifted their work from a missing-person search to a full criminal investigation.

A search involving Huay Yai Police, Chonburi Provincial Police, Tourist Police, district officials, forensic officers and Sawang Boriboon rescue volunteers covered the forest using drones and teams on foot.

Suspects still being sought

Investigators are checking roads into and out of the forest, including Chak Taeng Road and motorway connections, while seeking four suspects reportedly seen fleeing as officers approached the area.

Police are also examining links to a man known as "Pong", but stressed that he remains only a person of interest and has not been charged or found guilty of any offence.

Villagers told reporters they had heard multiple gunshots about 500 metres from the burial site on one or two recent nights. Tourist Police later searched that area, where there was a suspicious foul smell, dense vegetation, an abandoned factory and a cattle area. They found discarded bedding, a jar of Vaseline, shoes and old clothing, but could not establish any connection to the case.

Officers also dug into and inspected a charcoal kiln in the forest, without finding further evidence. The search was halted when heavy rain fell and darkness set in, with civilians asked to leave because suspects were reportedly believed to be armed.

At 4pm on 29 July, police surrounded a house in Moo 11, Huay Yai, after reports that Pong and a man named Thong were hiding there. Neither was found. The homeowner, Thong’s sister, said the two men had arrived at about 10am on 26 July, muddy, stayed for around an hour and then left. She also told investigators that Pong told her that he was a police officer and armed.

This will most definitely not have a happy ending. However, people just don´t meet up with other people on the road and travel to the forest together to pick mushrooms at 4 am. This is either drug or loan related.

Probably related to something, but speculation as to what is just guess work

Bad ending coming. Drug deal gone bad. Naive young foreigners. Tragic.

The poor parents. Not one, but two children lost this way. They will never be the same.

Why drug or loan related?. Could be straight out assault with intention to rape both the young woman and boy. Speculating does not solve the problem.

"If" it ends up not being good news, as they cops say, it's usually 1 of 3 or a combination of them as to the reason.......sex, money, drugs.

And this detective thinks it just may be the case here!!

Tragic. The entire saga so far is simply bizarre.

Without meaning to be callous, this is going to make for a great book, mini series, possibly a movie.

Why not just dump the bike in a river.

I agree personally I’d be taking a real close look at the parents in my view this looks to organized to be about assaulting two youngsters over drugs or kidnapping for ransom.Id be delighted to see them survive but I doubt it.very sad 😔

Surely, we all want to see them back alive. I was not really thinking about kidnapping for ransom or plain drugs. I was more thinking about drug deal gone wrong or payment missing. Alternatively, a loan debt. Unfortunately, they can kill for 20-baht lunch money in Thailand.

Interesting, how do you fit the parents in? That actually didn´t cross my mind. Can I pick your brain on that one?

They are Russian they come from a very corrupt country at war and they have money …….so in my view a prudent investigatior would be looking at that angle….either way it’s tragic and horrifying I pray for a positive outcome.

Very sad for the family. Anyone with kids know the pain they are going through.

Let's hope they are found alive.

The burying it in two separate pits fairly close together method clearly doesn’t work. The cops were on it in a flash.

I agree that it was likely about drugs or a loan debt, it's very odd and random that they would have been kidnapped unless the parents are mega rich.

The fact that they found the bike dissembled is a very dark and ominous sign. If no ransom demand has been made yet, than I would say the likelihood of them being found alive is fairly low at this point.

Very scary story, and I really hope that these kids are found safe. But I do find it curious that the parents waited two full days apparently before reporting their kids missing. I can’t imagine waiting that long if it was my child.

A lot of speculation going on here surprised to read the motor bike was disassemble and buried usually would have been sold off

On the 2 missing persons hopefully they will be found safe maybe a ransom note bid could appear soon

This is a horrible story about 2 youngsters whose family are in total grief and grief and pain.

No happy ending in sight. Diana Nazimova, 22, and Roman Nazimova, 17 ... far too young to depart this world on what appears to be a lapse of judgement. My sympathies to the parents.

Russian siblings missing; Police hold meeting to review evidence

Tourist Police have intensified their search for two Russian siblings who disappeared after leaving their accommodation by motorcycle in the early hours of 26 July. Investigators found the motorcycle dismantled and buried in the Huai Yai police area.

Diana Nazimova, 22, and Roman Nazimova, 17, both Russian nationals, left their accommodation at about 4am on 26 July 2026. They subsequently lost contact and have not been seen since.

On 29 July at 7pm, Pol Maj Gen Pongsayam Meekanthong, deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, chaired an urgent case review meeting. Tourist Police investigators and the wider investigation team attended to assess available evidence and set priorities for the search.

Motorcycle recovered in pieces

The key development came on 29 July, when investigators located the missing pair's motorcycle in the area covered by Huai Yai Police Station.

Police said the vehicle had been taken apart and its components buried underground. The find is being treated as important evidence that could help investigators establish what happened to the two missing Russians.

Officers are now gathering further evidence and extending their enquiries. They have not released more detailed information, saying disclosure could affect the investigation.

Those attending the meeting included Lt Col Prabda Suksuntree, superintendent of Tourist Police Sub-Division 4, Division 2, Tourist Police Bureau 1; Lt Col Apichat Charurak; and Maj Somchanok Chaiprasertsakun, along with other investigators and officers assigned to the case.

Russian Embassy kept informed

Pol Maj Gen Pongsayam said the Tourist Police Bureau has remained in close contact with representatives of the Russian Embassy in Thailand.

He said all relevant units had been instructed to find the two missing people as quickly as possible, clarify the circumstances of the case and maintain confidence in the safety of tourists travelling in Thailand.

Authorities said the investigation was progressing, with the search continuing on 30 July 2026, and investigators looking to locate the suspects for questioning.

Agree. This will most definitely not have a happy ending. IMHO far too young to die for picking up mushrooms at 4 am regardless of it being a drug or loan related matter. Sympathies to the parents.

It´s not at all impossible, but also not very likely. If you stay in Thailand, you quite quickly get into the time zone. It´s not like they had jet lag for 1,5 year or something. It´s kind of abnormal to just run out to 7Eleven at that time, if you are not stopping on your way to or from work.

We're just back to how the parents let them head out at 4AM, unless they were in on it.

Meet these people here, give them the money, come back with the bag. Guess what, bag gets stolen kids get buried. Shame on the parents, sending the kids in.

All we can do is guess at this point since we have very little on the way of facts. It's a truly sorry thing to see somebody get so bent out of shape and offended over a mere opinion. I suggest taking a deep breath, maybe getting some exercise, and perhaps treating yourself through to a nice meal or a good bottle of wine.

Sadly whatever is going on is more serious/valuable than a used scooter. Otherwise the scooter would simply have been found after being auctioned of somewhere or even parted out. The fact they tried to hide it is a worry to say the least.

She trafficked somewhere? He off to the frontline. When is the father in all this?

Also the first thing I noticed. Mother moved here and bought a house. OK we all know the dodgy routes so something was dodgy from the start.
