Very wise, especially after making offensive statements like this

What else would we expect from a "tolerant " and "inclusive" leftist insulting both a town and its inhabitants based on the behaviour of a small minority of , what was it again? I oh yeah "thugs" i nearly forgot

Thetford’s was n the middle nowhere, long isolated, for centuries surrounded by swamps.

It’s bound to effected the locals.

Now if you need any further evidence of why I might be concerned read the next sentence of your post, its barely proper English , and akin to what a child would write ,

Yet more ad hominem.

Animosity towards who now? A pitchfork is an agricultural implement, not an insult. Your inner preciousness is showing.

You've already labelled me as a lefty in your narrow and unknowing mind, but I'll put that down to the thickness of the right.

Up and down the country that I've just spent the best part of the past 6 months living in, people are as sick fed up of the Reform/Restore circle-jerk as they are of 'business as usual' approach of the mainstream parties. Yes, you have your noisome enclaves of fear and ignorance but for the vast majority of the country, they're not with you in any shape or form.

He is probably thinking of the Kett's rebellion. Ironically the British government needed to hire foreign mercenaries in order to defeat them. The inclusive and tolerant government at the time then chained Robert Kett and hung him from the walls of Norwich Castle where he was left to rot. This was meant to be a public deterrent. I think it's safe to say we bear a grudge up in Norfolk.

Landslide my arse.

A pitchfork was an agricultural implement used a long time ago , your inference was clear , So stop trying to be clever, it doesn't suit you , The recent council elections tell a slightly different story regarding the publics support for reform

As regards the result of the next general election , just wait and see ,

Thetford has a very long history going back to the Iceni tribe and Boudica. It would have been no more isolated than other places at that time. Don't forget that the Iceni went from there to burn down London due to the Romans abusing Boudica and her daughters. Thetford is of symbolic importance.

Going out to protest in a country like the UK with biased and brutal police and surveillance (camera's) everywhere,

takes a lot of courage. The threshhold to do so is lower for people who have already been in contact with the law.

Natural that among these hero's and patriots there will be more people with a record .

It is unfortunate that they mistakenly target private properties.

"Patriots". Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

I have no doubt.

(Reaches for his Tacitus to find out what happened to the Boudicca and the Iceni).

Boudica either took her own life or fell ill and the Iceni were defeated at the Battle of Watling Street.

Nobody needs courage to make a peaceful protest. When drunks start throwing rocks and cops, biting them and trying to break into other people's homes, then they better be prepared for some attitude adjustment by means of detention.

Can you tell me where Reform's successes were in the recent council elections?

Probably not but here you go anyway. They gained 4 more councils over their 2025 successes, for a grand total of 14 which equates to about 10.3% of the total up for grabs. That's hardly a mandate for the keys to #10 is it? Despite the massive Labour and Conservative losses, the vast majority of councils ended up under "no overall control". That's your middle ground speaking, those who refuse to pander to the extremism of either side.

I have been reading these Post's and the usual suspects are at it again. No realy interested in the thread just an escuse to post silly negative comments, Higgot has Harris syndrome and can't resist winding up members with his silly comebacks and as usual his back up jumps in supports him then disapears again. How about this one Higgot if you lived in a small rural village of say 4-500 residents would you be worried if a thousand plus illegal migrants were bussed in the dead of night to an ex military base. How would you feel about that.

Until this kicked off, 90% of the most upset respondents on here couldn't find Thetford on a map with one hand* and a flashlight. Probably still can't.

I could.

It hasn’t happened and regardless would not be an excuse for violence.

cute. You see Thetford as a place to put the migrant refuse, The locals have been disenfranchised and marginalized, their political voice silenced. Their protests are all that they can do now to prevent their community being further abused by migrant liars. And yes the migrants are at best liars, and most likely thieves and parasites. The migrants are under 35 year old males. They lied to enter the Uk, they lied about their circumstances. No women, no children, just males who are in the UK for easy access to social services, payments and healthcare, all because people like you enable it. Perhaps if you had to take in a rapist and if you had to personall ypay their upkeep you would have a different position.

More fear mongeting hyperbole from the usual suspects. The reality is that according to security analysts and informed objective observers the likelihood of this is extremely low. These protests like similar ones before, are no more than an excuse to engage in lawlessness, violent thuggery and vandalism, whipped up by disinformation on social media and hijacked by the extreme right. To claim they are a harbinger of anything else is both pathetic and laughable.
