Carney Says U.S. Wants to 'Destroy' Canadian Industries

Featured Replies

Seriously, why negotiate with these obnoxious and unreasonable people? When you can just take all they have in 48 hours?

After Iran an invasion of Canada would be like a 2 day holiday camp excursion for US soldiers.

Why is Trump even negotiating? Just take all Canada has!

  • Carney built up a lot of bad karma during his time as governor of the bank of England, especially with his anti-Brexit stance. That Trump is delivering the fruits of said karma, pleases me greatly.

Sounds as if Carney was the smarter one.

Did Trump lie and say his tarrifs that will raise prices for US consumers by increasing inflation will be good for America?

What a demented crook. 🕵

You have been foaming at your mouth whole morning with this ridiculous lunacy of going to war with Canada. Are you serious with a war with NATO? Do MAGA lunatics wake up every day with crazy thoughts just like the White House madman?

I'll tell you who lies, ABC news. Watching this show was like watching Canadian propaganda, not US news.

From the Ford mafia family's obscene scatological remarks to the total lie that Canada is America's best customer. Canada only takes 15% of US exports, but America takes 73 percent of Canada's exports, that's the reality.

The Candians are lying shamelessly and so is ABC news.

Can we be convinced that Canada can retaliate against Texas?

This is the question.

Would it not just be better to JOIN US, rather than fight US?

How many quarts of Maple Syrup would Canada need to export to the world in order to catch up with Trump's USA?

So, is there really any purpose in considering "retaliation"...???

How is it a lunacy? It would be over in 48 hours and America has 51 trillion USD of Canadian natural resources and corporate assets. 51 trillion USD!!! Why negotiate with these obscene and obnoxious Canadians? Just take all they have!

Then Doug Ford and Nato can kiss Trump's derriere. Doug Ford from a cell next to Maduro, where he belongs with his coke addict brother.

Suddenly a fan of sovereignty and self governance? 😄

Subjugation for thee but not for me.

Ridiculous false equivalence! The EU is not a federal state! 😃

Yeah, you White Guys For Harris keep saying that, yet Trump keeps following the democratic process and winning the vote.

It's almost like you're making it up. 😄

Oh, wait.....

Can this chart be correct?

I can't seem to find Canada.

Where is Canada, anyway?

Retaliation sounds nice, though.....EHHH?

Not yet. But that's the aim of the unelected technocrats running it.

Thank goodness we left.

No one force America to buy so much. By the way, export from US to Canada is approx $366 B and import about $400 B. Hardly the highly skewed % that you posted.

You are making that up, as usual!

There is no project at EU institutions about a possible new treaty establishing a federal state. 😀

I guess that Canada (as Iran and others), just needs to hold firm until US midterm elections.

Russian Mafia? 😂

The only mafia here is Doug Ford's family with his criminal brother.

Why should the US not take 51 trillion USD in assets that is sitting right next to it, basically undefended?

Trump really has the patience of an angel, imagine having a military that could defeat Canada in 48 hours and then listen to these fat redheads like Doug Ford pretend to be all tough.

I'd like to see Doug Ford talk tough in handcuffs after a US invasion. He'd be more docile than Maduro.

No official project, you mean.😄

Their behaviour tells a different story.

Shared Financial Debt, Challenging the National Veto, talk of a Defense Union. It's all pointing the same direction.

Anyway let them deny it all they want. We left, thank goodness. So we will be no part of it.

The United States loses billions of dollars annually due to Canadian protectionism.

Canada uses a rigid system of production quotas and steep tariffs (sometimes exceeding 200–300%) to restrict foreign imports. The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) has repeatedly challenged these measures under the USMCA, citing hundreds of millions of dollars in lost market access for American dairy farmers.

The Automotive Sector: $5.6 Billion Loss - Prior to the current trade war breaking out, U.S. auto manufacturers suffered a 22% drop in auto exports to Canada over a single 12-month period.

This represents a direct $5.6 billion hit to American automotive manufacturing.

Canadian protectionism has caused an 81% decline in American alcohol sales to Canada, wiping out $582 million in export value. The Wine Institute termed this collapse "the most significant market disruption in decades.

Canada originally agreed to give U.S. producers duty-free access to roughly 3.5% to 4% of its tightly protected dairy market. However, Canada allocated 80% to 85% of those tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) directly to domestic Canadian processors instead of retailers. This loophole prevented American cheese, milk, and butter from ever hitting Canadian grocery shelves, costing U.S. farmers hundreds of millions of dollars in unrealized revenue.

Decades of Canadian provincial subsidies for harvesting timber on public land have long allowed Canadian lumber firms to undercut U.S. producers. This legacy of protectionism has historically cost the U.S. domestic logging industry substantial market share and billions in depressed domestic revenue, leading to dozens of repetitive legal battles under NAFTA and the WTO.

Trump is right to fight back against the Canadian shake-down, but he should just invade and take their 51 trillion USD of assets outright. Why negotiate with these deluded and obnoxious people?

Can you say "AI Slop"? One of the problems with AI is that "I don't know" is not programmed as an option.

As explained, these are news sorces like Reuters and The Guardian, and Carney himself, and the White House.

It's not random bs.

News and facts won't come knocking on our door, we in fact need to do some searching and reading to get them.

How Harris and Trump and even White Guys come into this thread

That's what I'm saying, let's compare the level of US standards and Canadian standards in the only way that matters, militarily. Let's see if the Canadian military can live up to the US standard when it gets invaded.

I say Canada will fall in less than 48 hours.

Exactly, and the fact is that 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US, so an invasion by the US would be swift and painless.

Why not just invade Canada?

Still, I'll wait for them to release the detailed text. So far, it's just "he said, she said".

Or is it "they said"? Does Canada still do the pronoun thing?

No EU citizen voted for Von der Leyen or any other member of the EU Commission which runs the show. That's a FACT.

You are making stuff up again! 😃

There is no defense union project. The projects are about joint weapons development and procurement, based on voluntary participation, and don't include shared command structures or integrated armed forces, There is also no collective defense clause, such as article 5 in NATO.

The closest to a defense union is NATO, not the EU.

Are you for real with this, or just trolling?

How do you think the rest of the world would react if USA invaded Canada, taking over with military forces? Another member of NATO?

I'm speechless. You sound more and more like Russia.
