Yes, I think (as I said in another post about this protest), it is just another rent-a-mob for Sondhi - the snake in the grass that he is - and the beginning of his new ultra-right-wing nationalistic campaign against all foreigners. In other words, to whip Thais into a xenophobic frenzy (not necessarily just anti-Israeli nor antisemitic - as you say most of that mob wouldn't know what that means). Sondhi will then move to Chinese, then Europeans, Americans, Japanese, etc., etc.

To me it strongly suggests that, even though the Establishment has the government it wants including Anutin (who also doesn't like foreigners), Sondhi plans to push further to see a forever hard-line military dictaorship in Thailand. He probably admires the junta in Myanmar.

The protest is a group of Thai's complaining about Israeli citizens conduct, land ownership/business dealings, and general disrespect of local customs and communities.

As I said in a previous post, all foreigners are guests in the Kingdom, the majority of foreigners have no problems, yet the Thai's feel that Israeli people are pushing their luck, and rightly or wrongly have picked out the Israel Embassy to stage a protest.

The fact that Israel is the only State in the world that has a majority Jewish population is irrelevant to the majority of Thai's, but then there are about 5% of the population of Thailand that are Muslim forming a diverse community with rich cultural roots spread all over the Kingdom.

The South: Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat have a large Muslim majority.

Bangkok: The capital city has a growing Muslim population with hundreds of mosques and many halal food choices.

Other Regions: Small communities live scattered across the central, northern, and northeastern parts of Thailand.

The fact you feel scapegoating Israel by anybody is laughable, the World and his wife has started to realise that there are two sides to every story and what has been happening in the Middle East since before Israel was recognized as a State is now being questioned by ordinary people around the globe, and it has come to Thailand.

My wife used to be very high in the Old yellow shirt organisation ,she was one of the most avid organisers in the protests years ago that took over Suvarnabhum and the Government house but she left in 2018 because she uncovered corruption and bullying of members and she also states that they are now racist and anti semetic...
