Anti-Israel protests in Bangkok fuel concern over Israelis

If correct, and the protest was outside the Israeli Embassy, then WTF were the RTP up to, allowing it to happen...the protest eas in direct contravention of Thai law.

"Prohibited Locations

The law bans public assemblies entirely in or near certain sensitive zones, including:

  • Parliament, courts, and government offices (within a 50-meter radius)

  • Hospitals, educational institutions, and religious sites

  • Foreign embassies or international organizations " is this allowed to happen to take focus away from government issues, eg senate collusion, the illegal invasion of Cambodia, Anutin's poor performance etc

The embassy ban is very surprising to me.

I suppose it's like so many laws in Thailand -- there is the law and then there is enforcement.

Don’t expect the red carpet treatment when you cause havoc around the world.

Israelis with Thai citizenship, really? There can't be many of those. It's very hard to get Thai citizenship.

Surprising to me too. None of that list seems off-limits to Sondhi's mobs throughout the years. Embassies, government offices, UN building, etc.

The Chinese are way ahead of anyone else in bending the rules in Thailand. The Israelis are a useful distraction

Chinese being a part of the Thai elite good luck with that.

I find the story about your friend considering your long pattern of extremely inflammatory anti-Israel posts as well as even employing racist Jew hating tropes about the "chosen people" regularly to be extremely suspect.

Jewish spaces all over the world NEED to have good security.

Was your "friend" going there to sincerely paricipate in the religious and community activities there or was on a kind of spy mission?

It was a very sincere inquiry on his part to see whether or not the temple was someplace he wanted to visit regularly. The fact that he was not only not welcomed but surrounded by policemen within minutes was rather shocking and alarming. It simply proves the extreme levels of exclusion when it comes to many Israelis and their reaction to people outside of their own communities. Being Jewish wasn't enough, you had to be an Israeli Jew who spoke Hebrew to get in, as if it was an exclusive establishment of some sort.

What do you think about my post means less than zero to me I post them with a level of sincerity and we disagree and have a very different perspective on things. That is on you if you question my sincerity just because you don't agree with my opinion.

It was truly pathetic and highly dishonorable behavior on the part of the local Israelis. No wonder the local Thais are up in arms about the Israeli visitors.

I never had any interest in visiting a Chabad place. They are very Orthodox Jews and I'm an atheist.

I have been to a number of Israeli dominated spaces in Thailand. Yeah they speak Hebrew and I don't, but never turned away and they would talk to me amiably if approached them. It was all very normal.

I never saw any Israeli Jew behaving badly.

Their culture is very different of course and I can see how their directness could clash with Thai culture.

One experience at a place with a restaurant and synagogue was intense though. They needed another Jewish man for a minyan. I was approached and I told them I'm not religious, then was asked if I have a Jewish mother, well yes, then please join us. I did as a favor. It was all in Hebrew and not fun for me as again I'm an atheist.

I've been to Italian spaces in Thailand where everyone is speaking Italian. It's the same feeling. Normal when you're an outside to the larger group.

Not sure that's the reason. It's more likely because China usually retaliates when its citizen are targeted. Israel has no significant retaliation power over Thailand.

And China has the will and determination to use that power. Western countries do not. They most often will leave their citizens hanging. The Italian school kids on the BTS was a prime example. The Italian embassy couldn't wait to apologize for something the Chinese would have turned around and accused the Thais of. In fact the Chinese did that shortly afterwards when a misbehaving Chinese woman waiting in line was defended as a victim.

Could it be that the worldwide experience of Israel's invasion of other countries is leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth? The same experience from the United States. The attempt at world domination and genocide does not make you popular.

There's a really good restaurant in an Israeli-run tourist hotel a few doors down from the Bangkok Chabad. (Don't tell Sondhi). BTW, I didn't even know what a Chabad was until a friend pointed it out to me and explained what they do there.

Israeli tourists and expats are not their government.

I don't agree there was genocide but wrong topic to discuss that.

One of the big problems right now is that Israel is literally infested with super toxic ultra Zionists and poorly behaved settlers who are incredibly violent, murderous and their transgressions seem to be supported by the government. You add into that the fact that a lot of the younger Israelis here are former IDF soldiers who are hopped up on adrenaline, and have been killing women and children with support from the government, and you can only imagine how warped their attitudes are. It's not a good recipe for peaceful tourists nor expats. I think it's safe to say that the Israelis are the most poorly behaved group within Thailand right now so I can understand why there are a lot of local people who are having an issue with them. In addition they're being very aggressive when it comes to taking over local businesses and dominating certain industries.

Boys on the hills. Jewish assasins.

Israel captured the West Bank, along with Gaza and east Jerusalem, in the 1967 Mideast war, territories the Palestinians want for a future state.

Since then, the Israeli government has built nearly 150 settlements that are home to well over 500,000 Jewish settlers. Many of the settlements resemble fully developed suburbs, with apartment blocks, shopping malls, parks and industrial zones.

Radical settlers have established hundreds of additional outposts without government authorization, while still enjoying protection from the Israeli military and often other public services.

Netanyahu’s government, the most nationalist and religious in Israel’s history, has boasted of establishing over 100 new settlements. On Thursday, as the army deployed in Qusra, members of his Cabinet celebrated the rebuilding of a settlement that had been dismantled in 2005 as part of the Gaza withdrawal.

The Israeli police are overseen by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, himself a hard-line settler who has been convicted eight times for offenses that include supporting a terrorist organization. He was a defense attorney for Jewish extremists before entering politics.

The Israeli military says the settlers’ actions in Qusra are “illegal, reprehensible and unacceptable,” and that it tries to maintain law and order in the West Bank. It says it dismantled two outposts in the area of Qusra and detained one Israeli.

But rights groups say the military frequently turns a blind eye to settler violence, and that when it intervenes it often focuses on protecting the settlers. Yesh Din, an Israeli rights group, says around 94% of investigations into settler violence since 2005 have ended without an indictment, with just 3% leading to full or partial convictions.

President Donald Trump rescinded the U.S. sanctions at the start of his second term and appointed Huckabee, a staunch supporter of Israeli settlements, as his ambassador.

During his first term, Trump had upended decades of U.S. policy by moving the American Embassy to Jerusalem and supporting Israel’s claims to other territories seized in war.

If DJT had the balls, he would stop supplying weapons to Israel, but he will not do this because he would lose the Jewish votes.

Bibi and his cabal of Jewish zealots are a bloody disgrace and I look forward to seeing them all being tried for genocide. The UN have issued Israel with memoranda after memoranda and the Jews take no notice. If the truth be known Bibi and his army would be delighted to wipeout every Palestinian in existence and the world should be bloodywell ashamed of itself for allowing the killings of innocent Palestians. SHAME ON THEM ALL, including the Palestinian armed factions. Whatever happened to the "Balfour agreement"?

Nick, how many thousands of your posts have the word 'Israel' in them? Maybe 80-90%?

Thailand is an overwhelmingly tolerant and peaceful country.
If Jews did something to make Thais dislike them and want to kick them out en masse then I guarantee you

it is warranted and has nothing to do with religion.

That's YOUR hang up. Not theirs.

Its just a few 100 Muslim protestors , probably funded by Iran, that oppose Jews in Thailand

Thing is - and while I am annoyed about the Israelis here too - the fact is you could 'pinpoint' other nationalities on that map. Russian dominance (Pattaya and Phuket) and Chinese dominance in different areas (Chinese in Bangkok around Rama 9 and RCA).

Perhaps because your 'sponsors' are only concerned about

wars that Israel are fighting ..all 7 fronts ??? is Sudan one of those fronts ?
