Ever read the Gospel of John?

Who was taught to hate who?

The thing about Christian proselytizers and evangelists is that they are taught that if they are argued with or scorned it proves that they are right.

"Suffering for the gospel is the hardship, rejection, or persecution that Christians experience because they follow and share the message of Jesus Christ. [1, 2]"

from Google search for "Suffering for the gospel".

So in general there is no point in arguing with them as it only makes them more certain, although it is tempting.

The very first post brings up an interesting point by implication.

Let's say you believe in Christianity and its teachings?

Why not Buddhism or Hinduism?

Isn't just an accident of where you were born?

As a lot of atheists say, there are many gods, I just believe in one less god than you do.

No I haven't picked up a Bible since I don't remember when.

But we need to put these books down. They were meant for people at the time 2000 years ago.

It's cleverly built into the system by design to keep them from doubting what they are doing.

Because whoever invented this game of converting people understood that they would be met with a lot of resistance from people.

The Jehovahs had no right to knock on the doors of our homes when I was growing up. That should have been made illegal with fines handed out. And they kept coming back relentlessly no matter how often we slammed the door in their faces.

They are doing the most damage.

Because everyone is tired of the spiel and they are blocking out further conversation and exploration and curiosity.

Have you ever thought, if there is a God, that those who are spreading the word are actually doing something to put people on the right track towards going to heaven, and that it's the most important thing anyone can do on earth?

There is no "brainwashing" that's going to hurt another's life in this regard, seeing adults can still make up their own minds when the brain is mature in the 20's, because if there isn't a God, what do you lose? You likely are living a more moral and kind towards others lifestyle, from fear of not going to heaven, along with the hope that heaven is a much better place than this earth, which is certainly would be.

Take away those who use religions for harm, and just keep the peaceful parts. No damage is done teaching about God, no matter what the outcome, because following God's laws makes you a decent person who treats others well.

It seems you're another one who only knows a couple of Americans, likely ones here that are heavy drinkers, and not the other millions that are in America. All of us are getting better schooling than most anywhere, with history being a huge subject, so the ignorant ones are those, like SE Asian schools, along with others unknown, which aren't teaching world history like the west does.

I knew all about other religions before I went to school, as did everyone else I knew, as our parents actually were parents who taught us about life, before the schools further educated us.

If you take away the assumptions people make about other countries, along with the prejudice which usually goes along with it, all that's left are the ignorants who practice those two, and people get along better.

No, damage is done.

I already gave an example.

Although it is an extreme example, it still shows that your belief system is completely stupid and damaging.

There is a former mafia guy on Youtube. Now he claims he has found Jesus and he's preaching on his channel. After having murdered who knows how many people.

It doesn't work like that.

Your belief system is completely stupid and damaging.

America ranks 8th for education. Top 3 are Singapore, Japan and South Korea.

How is my belief system damaging if people follow God's laws? You can't take a few videos from loose cannons and label all believers that way. There are countless Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus and Atheists that rape, murder and kill others, daily, and some use their own religions as a reason, which it never is. I've never intentionally hurt anyone, and neither has any of my children, family or friends, and they're all Christians. God's ways aren't harmful in any way. they practice love. Look at Jesus' teachings, which are easy to find, and you'll see why he was here. Core Teachings of Jesus

  • Love for God and Neighbors: Jesus called this the greatest commandment, stating that all moral duty sums up in loving God with all one's heart and loving one's neighbor—even enemies—as oneself.

  • The Kingdom of God: He announced that God's reign was active, calling people to turn away from wrong actions, change their hearts, and live by heavenly values.

  • The Golden Rule: He taught a simple rule for human interaction: treat other people the exact way you want them to treat you.

  • Forgiveness: He urged people to forgive others repeatedly, warning that receiving God's forgiveness requires forgiving those who do wrong to you.

  • Humility and Mercy: He praised the meek, the merciful, and the poor in spirit, teaching that true greatness comes from serving others rather than seeking status.

    YouTube·Seeds of purity +2

  • Spiritual Focus Over Wealth: He warned that people cannot serve both God and money, advising followers not to worry about material possessions but to trust in God's provision.

  • All religions have their share of violence when they are twisted for power and control. Historical and modern data suggest that religion is frequently intertwined with—or secondary to—ethnic, territorial, and nationalist political goals. While some traditions emphasize strict pacifism—such as Jainism—nearly all major global traditions have experienced periods where institutions or extremist factions used sacred texts or authority to justify force.

  • Nothing to do with damaging anyone. IF practiced as Jesus taught.

The data says Christians in America commit the most crimes lol

  • Christians: Make up the vast majority of the prison population. According to estimates from the Pew Research Center, roughly 60% to 70% of US prison inmates identify with a Christian tradition (primarily Protestantism and Catholicism).

  • Atheists / Unaffiliated: Explicitly self-identified atheists make up a very small fraction of the prison population—often under 1% in Federal Bureau of Prisons data.

Too dense to realize that the prison population is higher in Christians because Christians are the highest population in America. Christians make up the majority of the U.S. prison population largely because Christianity is the largest religious group in the general American population.

There is also this,There is a difference between “identified” Christians and Practicing Christians (or Jews, or Muslims or whatever)

Criminologists note that crime rates are heavily influenced by factors like poverty, age distribution, urbanization, and local legal systems—not religious doctrine. Where prison populations or localized data are studied, researchers emphasize that social and economic disadvantages are the primary drivers of crime, rather than religious identity

Understanding the Numbers

  • Absolute Numbers: When a country's population is mostly Christian, the raw numbers of arrests and incarcerations will naturally skew Christian.

  • Proportions vs. Population: According to data from sources like the Pew Research Center, about two-thirds of state prison inmates identify as Christian, which roughly mirrors general demographic trends, though certain groups show distinct statistical variances.100% and counting.

  • I guess his last warning about baiting and trolling wasn't heeded.

Basic math

Pew says 4 to 5% of Americans are atheist. Less than 1% of prisoners are in jail.

Christians - 2/3 of the population and 2/3 of inmates.

So Christians are 5 times more likely to go to jail.

We had 'RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION (1 hr oce a week) in prim'ry and hi sch. Kids decided which 'brand' to attend. parents not involved.

Most kids which room to attend based on best handful of confectionary was handed out on arrival at the room with further handout when kids departed after the one hr.

The i hr lesson (35-40 min given the time wasted) was given by a local priest (a local RC school father which provided the teacher), a local minister if it was a religion like Methodist.

The onlt religion which DIDN'T hand out candy etc., was the Salvation Army and that room had the biggest attendance.

"Pew Research Center, about two-thirds of state prison inmates identify as Christian".

"identify as Christians... " I don't buy this. That doesn't mean they are knowledgeable about 'their' religions and it doesn't mean they attend church regularly, in fact in many cases they never attend church.

Further, Many US Americans (prisoners and not prisoners) have no knowledge / close to no knowledge of the teachings / history of the only religion they have ever hear of 'Christian'. When asked 'what is your religion' they give an auto response of 'christian'.

Identifying as a Christian means that's what you said when you're registered in the prison. It has no bearing on how involved they are in Christianity.

Again you have no idea what Americans do if you only know a few, let alone the almost 350 million living there.

America is all countries in one place, which means every race, creed and nationality. Not attending church regularly doesn't mean you aren't practicing any particular religion. It just means you aren't attending church.

I know quite a lot about the UK even though I haven't yet visited it, but I wouldn't pretend to know much about it's citizens besides the ones I've known in my life, which might number a few hundred but it's but a fraction of all UK citizens both there and in the US.

Education isn't bad in the US but the generation's dedications have decreased. There are excellent schools all over, rated high. The same schools my children went to are still rated high in Texas, along with the ones I went to back in New Jersey.

Most schools in Thailand don't compare to the average ones in the west. This is mirrored by a good friend here, a school owner, English school, who was trained in English in America. Him and his wife have been in the Thai school system over 50 years, and his words are for me to get my daughter into an American school as soon as possible, as he's well aware of the quality there and here.

He is well known all over Thailand and has been involved as a teacher in many Thai schools. The International schools here aren't bad, but there are many foreigners that send their children to the west for schooling, and most never return. One other thing in local schools here is the fact a large percentage of girls here are molested in Thai schools before they leave them. Research on any schools is readily available online.
