I too, am puzzled.

Family can be some of the most toxic people on earth. Parents that are already damaged from their parents pass that down to the children. Many times it's one child that's singled out as the victim of their abuse and or neglect, while the others are treated well. Best thing is to educate yourself on these types and then avoid them, even if they are family. They can be very nice to people in public personal situations, and when they get home the real them comes out.
