That would be repeating myself, along with all the other many believers on this site and the billions of other believers who believe in the one true God. You can look it up, but you won't as someone told you that God doesn't exist, and like the few others here, you believed them.

Quantity, is not quality. Billions believe in Shiva. That does nothing to verify the claims.

No, it just proves there are more believers than non believers.

I repeat - what counts is the basis for a belief, not the belief itself.

Suppose I say, "I believe there are aliens living at the centre of Europa".

For as long as I have zero evidence for that, I have to be regarded as a nutcase. It is only the fact that religion has been poisoning people's minds for millennia that prevents religious people (like you) being regarded as nutcases. Such is the power of brainwashing. You are a victim.

Funny thing, the worlds majority are believers, so that makes the non believers outcasts. Again, if you can understand what it means, read those words about atheists, although being in denial is your go to. Always a good thing some of these topics, as it shows how some think. Or don't think .And again, you're wrong, and assuming. Anyone who calls a couple of billion people nutcases because they believe in God is the epitome of asinine.

Belief in God or a higher power provides meaning, comfort, community, and ethical frameworks for a vast majority of the global population. While it is entirely valid to disagree with religious doctrines or critique religious institutions, reducing the diverse and complex spiritual lives of billions to nutcases is a highly reductive and close-minded approach to human diversity.

More people ride buses than drive Ferraris. Religions keep people poor. Early socialist brain washing as the churches and top powerful people were rich. It is really just another form of government to keep the select few powerful and the masses poor.

Actually, I didn't like going to Church and I was never a devout anything but .. there are some positives now that I am older and reflect on it...

Ritual ... community.

The whole little community would gather Sunday mornings.

I would see my cousins and my aunts there. I was too young to appreciate it.

That's lost now without Church.

Maybe replaced with pubs? It's the closest thing. But that's just a bunch of guys. The Church gatherings were multi-generational, family bonding ritual ...

people are focusing too much on "does god exist?"

What is a ritual? Do human beings need rituals?

Maybe rock concerts are a ritual. But everyone is doing drugs.

Church is a ritual without the drugs.

Thais eat on the floor. Sense of community. They have overnight prayers at some temples which is mainly women.

I went to church as a kid and hated it.

Some of those black churches in US have great singers. I went to a church in Italy that had great female choir. It was in a small town.

So religion does have good points.

I guess it escapes your thinking that those who have been shown they're wrong, off topic, trolling, pedant and utter miscreants also tend to laugh at their own jokes, all the while the laugh being on them. Try to reply without the usual assumptions, as it makes you look much like the ultracrepidarian dogmatist other well known name changing forum troll here.

Okay, I'll change that to Nones, a small group but still larger than Hindus, Buddhists or those into Judaism.

That means, that half of the believers of the world will be dissapointed.

More likely all will be, or would be if there is any such existence,

Not everyone going to concerts is using drugs, and some who go to church do. Hypocrites in all areas and groups. Churches are fellowships, where like minded people can get together to pray, and talk afterwards, sharing not only words about God but all other life things. Fellowship does help to keep one focused, as backsliding occurs when many are alone. Rituals do have their place in any society or religions. Just like the saying , the family that prays together, stays together. No one can force another to believe nor help another get to heaven. It's a personal thing between them and God.

There has never been any evidence to disprove God, and never will be. This is just wishful thinking from those who chose to not believe for a number of reasons, most of them from being taught a religion forcefully, suffering a loss, not believing a God would let so many bad things happen, or believing in other's opinions they trusted.

Unfortunately, you have failed to observe that you are the joke.

Time and time again, you make some absurdly irrational comment and, when you are nailed, you change the subject.

Examples:

  • I have shown (repeatedly) that "prove a negative" has been discarded as a thinking-tool. I refer you to the earlier examples that you had to ignore.

  • I have shown repeatedly that "proof" is not a valid concept in these discussions (Bertrand Russell: "Proof is considerably harder to come by than the average person might suppose". And you are indeed very average). Proof is valid in mathematics, and difficult (but not impossible) to establish elsewhere.

  • I have repeatedly referred you to external sources... of course, you have to pretend that I did not, as that would be fatal to the training you received as an infant - that a fact-free god will send you to paradise and punish all people who annoy you.

How about you pull your finger out of your delusional bunghole and actually address what I have asked repeatedly: What is your opinion of this?

https://www.edge.org/conversation/nicholas_humphrey-what-shall-we-tell-the-children

I know! Let's waffle about proof. Good old Fred is doing his best!

Still no evidence to support your beliefs.

Still no evidence to support your beliefs either.

Traditional religion, whatever its defects, has a multi-thousand-year track record of producing civilizations that outbreed and outlast their competitors. Atheism’s track record, where it has been tried as a mass ideology, is demographic winter and moral confusion. That is the scoreboard. Appealing to “not true atheism” is the same cope Marxists use when the body count gets too high.

If your metaphysics cannot ground the existence of the universe, the reliability of the mind, or the binding force of “thou shalt not,” it is not a sophisticated alternative to theism.

It is a luxury belief that works only while the residual capital of the old Christian order has not yet been fully spent.

Even Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, champion of atheists, hints that he believes in God.

Men who move to Thailand tend to be damaged.
Theyre often ingrates who don't appreciate the miracle of life and mess up their lives - usuallly thru degen behaviour - so move countries for an attempted 2nd coming.

It usually doesn't work as they cannot follow the straight and narrow - so they become even more bitter.
Moral frameworks are jarring for <deleted>bags, mongers and other degenerates which makes 'belief' very uncomfortable for them. Easier to play the big internet tought guy 'rAtioNaLisT' than face their darkness.
Atheism is also often a cry for help by the hopeless.

These guys on here so desperate to discount God are to be pitied really.
But at the same time, they can also go <deleted> themselves.
Amen.

China has 1.4bn people. Mostly atheists.

This is a Thai forum. Christians are a minority group in the whole of Asia.

You can't even define god yet you whinge people don't believe in a made up character than NOBODY has seen.

Does it upset you when people don't believe in the Loch Ness monster?

I thought religion taught kindness? Yet here you are saying atheists are hopeless. On average they are smarter than believers and most Asians are friendly people and non believers lol

The worst terrorists are also believers.

Actually it's you that's damaged goods, assuming about me and that your position is right and mine is wrong. You again cannot disprove anything I've said, so keep resorting to the same thing.

My parents were catholic and brought me to church, although they weren't very "religious". I went to Catholic school 8 years. I then went to public high school.

I knew all along that Catholicism has some things that were wrong or unnecessary, and when I met a Christian lady was born again into basic Christianity. Belief in Jesus and God, without praying to people or seeing how much money some religions work on. I'm not hiding behind anything. We aren't pawns or slaves but choose our paths. Putting me or others into your thinking isn't our thinking. If you're that easy to brainwash, don't assume others are also. Some people follow things blindly and many don't.

It again, for more times than I need to count, doesn't matter what anyone thinks as my business isn't theirs. It doesn't matter to me what others believe in as they aren't me. Yes, of course Jews can go to heaven. Jesus was a Jew, but Jews don't loo at Jesus as the Messiah but God as a monotheism. Jews also believe the messiah will bring world peace, and seeing Jesus was executed, this didn't happen. This doesn't mean Jesus won't come back as promised. Messianic Jews do believe in Jesus. Muslims believe in God and that to me is all it takes. That Jesus is a path towards God is a bonus.

Well all i can say is good luck, you will probably preach your kind of religion to God himself!

You are all knowing, very wise and preach to people about all kinds of things.

Keep being awesome in your own restricted mind!

Fred Wiggy just wrote:

There has never been any evidence to disprove God, and never will be.

As they say in America, "I am like wow".

Silly Freddy thinks that by word-manipulation, he can say something meaningful. Sorry, wrong again, Fred!

Over and over again I have shown that "proving a negative" has been discarded from formal thought-debate. I quote, yet again, what Fred Wiggy has had to ignore:

===============================

It's been many years since "prove a not" (in this case, prove that god does not exist) has been shown to be silly. Sound thinkers go for "prove so-and-so is the case", and if no one can, the matter either on stand-by awaiting more facts (say, quantum mechanics or dark matter) or put in the bin (say, astrology or reincarnation).

Here is why "prove there is no god" is silly.

"Prove that pink elephants exist"...the means by which that can done is simple - produce one for inspection.

"Prove that pink elephants do not exist" cannot be done - true believers will tell us that we need to look in caves, underwater, on a planet revolving around Alpha Centauri etc.

================================

So Freddy, cut the crap:

Do you understand that "proof of a negative" is a fallacy?

Once again, pull your fact-free finger out of your delusional bunghole and answer the question.

They grew up as Christians. According to your pal here damage occurs in childhood. So it was Christian ways that ruined them.

Buddhism teaches kindness. You see monks, ladyboys and old ladies all helping each other survive. Christians hate gays, hate non believers whilst muslims jail or kill them.

The world would better if we were all buddhists.

The world would better if we were all buddhists.

Buddhism has no god... the Buddha, on his deathbed, laughed at his followers who thought he was divine.

On the other hand, we have modern parents who train their children in nonsense about gods and heaven and hell....

Multi-thousand year history of killing people over lies and dogma.

It's ok... evasion and dishonesty is what religion is all about. You are just one of the bunch.
