Nature is not good for us humans. Parachute yourself into the Canadian wilderness during winter without modern equippement. You will be dead within 1 week.

Otherwise, I have never believed that "aliens" would ever have reached our small blue planet. So, where do you come from ?

You can not possibly have earthly origins.

That is one big question Sir.

There are only 5 possibilities. I'll list them if you want.

Might I add, don't kiss your dog or cat on the lips. Better yet, don't kiss them at all.

Yes of course one would want a knife. Didn't you say 'modern' stuff? Like laptops, leccy cars and designer handbags..

Just have to adapt to the environment. Same in the desert. Have to know where to get water. Have to study insects and lizards. At night, look at the starts. Ears open for sounds.

Lighting a fire eh. I learned that in der Cubs back in the day. Easy peasy.

Nothing is easy if you're stuck in the wild without any tools, even if you're up on survival tactics, as being there isn't the same as reading about it. When things are wet or frozen, building a fire is the difference between living another day or dying.

Wild animals like bear, moose, wolves and others aren't easy to kill without a gun, especially if they know you're there. In the Spring, Summer or early Fall, just staying dry and having potable water can have you live until you get out, as you can go quite awhile without food.

Without a compass, map and knowledge of the area, you can walk in circles until you drop, as most people do, especially in cloudy weather. Having waterways in your way means you have to circumvent them, which can also have you going off course. A GPS will work if you have one.

You make it sound so difficult Sir. Of course if you were air-dropped 1000km from a town in the snow with summer clothes on you would suffer. No different in walking on the moon naked. You just don't do it. Unless you are into ultra adventuring that is.

Let's add some levity here. You are right to imply that nature can be harsh, vicious and unforgiving. But it is never ugly. Only humans make it that way. We can learn to to live with it, or try to destroy it. If we do try, we will be the losers. Because we are nature. Nature is us.

If you can keep your head, when others around you are losing theirs; you could finish up the tallest.

Nature is ugly daily. Animal attacks you likely will never hear about unless you research about them. Hurricanes, earthquakes, landslides, floods, fires, tornadoes, heat, cold, and insects, which kill more people yearly than anything else. Nothing to do with humans besides global warming that might increase some of these disasters, and building homes and businesses too close to waterways. Living with nature is what humans have tried to do all along, with many rich doing what they can to destroy it. Those are the real problem.

Some truth in what you say Sir.

It's just so easy to think of nature as being divorced from us. Nothing to do with me guv. Well, you and me are as much a part of nature as an elk, a thunder clap or a willow tree.

We have been here for a million years. Our ancestors had to live with their environments, we 'modern' people must do the same.

If you can keep your head, when others around you are losing theirs; you could finish up the tallest.
