With the marriage paper (I hope your mean District Office rather than a court), copy of wife ID card (or maybe the original wife) and proof of bank account take a short vacation to Penang and obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa. That will allow you up to 15 months of 90 day stays and you can extend your stay once you meet the 40k monthly family income requirement (or age to 50 and can use the retirement option). Other options would be education or work.

You from NH by any chance?

Believe I found the question and no you will not need tax records to obtain a visa. At Penang they reportedly want to see at least 200k in a Thai account and in Singapore 400k in any account to issue a multi entry. There is no financial requirement for a single entry.
