Which Adsl Router ....

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a wireless router suitable for use in a shop house. At home (one storey) I use the D-link DSL -G604T which works brilliantly! However, not so sure if the same router would work as well in a four storey shop house?

Any ideas?

The 3com OfficeConnect ADSL routers are widely known to provide excellent range. In tests we performed several months ago on wireless-G routers, we found the 3com routers to just outperform the Netgear alternatives (which also have excellent range). Of course with many access points, the antenna connection has a univeral socket so if range was a real issue, you could add an external antenna.

There are several good shops which specialise in access points located on the second floor of Pantip plaza. One is owned by a Indian of Thai descent, he speaks fluent English and has all the high-gain antenna options available.

Wireless-N technology is also now available which has even better range than wireless G. In saying this, a good wireless G access point such as the 3Com mentioned will probably serve your purposes nicely.

Hope this helps.

I've got a D-Link DSL-G604T in my office which is a 3.5 story shophouse. The router is on the mezzanine floor and the signal is surprisingly good throughout the building, even at the top floor.

Deke, that's good news! Once TOT have opened the internet line, I will take my current D-Link there and try it out. Thanks!

I've been playing with an asus wl 660g and it seems to be a very impressive piece of kit!

Two big plus points: has a USB print server built in and a very impressive QOS part, where you can decide what traffic to prioritize.

Very usefull if in your shop you sell VOIP overseas calls and have all the PC's on the same adsl line. You can prioritize VOIP and whatever other users do, your voice calls will remain clear...

Bought in TukCom Pattaya for 3900 Baht...

What's the price of that DSL-G604T in Pantip? I just ordered True's 1mb and I need to buy some modem for it. Any recommendation? I stay in BKK only 4 months so I dont need anything special. Only wifi is needed for two laptops.

What's the price of that DSL-G604T in Pantip?

I bought mine about two years ago and it seems like it was about 3500 Baht. There may be a "new and improved" version available nowadays.
