Hi all.

I work in the middle east and will be travelling back to england soon to gain a 1 year mult entry visa for thailand. A friend of mine has advised me to go to birmingham as they are the most generous. Is this correct guys? Also what documentation do i need to take? I have no intentions of working there as ive got a cushy number in iraq!! with excellent vacation throughout the year. Please can someone give me a heads up on what i need to take with me.

Cheers.

In England, Birmingham, Hull, Liverpool all have an excellent reputation for good service. Bring your passport, a passport photo or two, money for the application fee, and that’s it.

Birmingham is a smallish consulate, I believe, with courteous and speedy service. May not be open every day and may prefer postal applications, but best give them a call first. The website is here. Phone +44 121 643 9481, fax +44 121 643 9485

Take care in Iraq!

Lukey, google for the Royal Thai Consulate at Hull. Click on Visas and there especially study point 2 and 22 (for directions). Fill in the application form, ask for a Multiple Non-O-Visa, use your English home address, purpose of visit “Visit Friends”, evidence substantiating purpose of visit “Extended Stay”, otherwise stick with the facts in that form, fill in the self-certification guarantee and the payment form, make an appointment by phone before you go, take the M1 up north, go there und you will get what you want on the spot. I know what I am talking about, I was there, I have done it and it was the most enjoyable trip I, as a Swiss, ever made in my life for the purpose of visa matters. Don’t forget their guestbook on a table at the entrance and let them know how you feel about their service.
