New Power Lines To Pai?

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen the new cement (15-20 meters high) power poles going up

along the road to Pai? Can anyone out there verify what this implies?

Thank you.

I am interested in an informed verification, but speculation is welcomed by all.

The poles have been going in for about a year, the power is promised for 'next year'. The power here is low all the time, I guess about 180 volts or less which make electric showers quite cold!

I had to buy another UPS to make my transistor SW radio keep working when the missus has a warm shower.

It is a credit to TV manufacture that it is the last to expire when the power gets really bad, the computer has its own UPS which gives me about three minutes to shut down after is begins beeping.

Life as about more than TV and computers and we do get to talk a lot, her English is a lot better than my Thai!!

IMO everything you read on this site should be considered speculation, regardless of how informed the verifier may be. :o

The new lines will hopefully reduce the current power failure rate of several per week and the voltage problems already mentioned to the (ever increasing) level of the rest of the country.

For those interested in more cavalier speculation, the rumor has been going around of another hydro project somewhere between here and Vieng Hang...
