Google Earth Upgraded

GE has upgraded its west coast images..

Been trying to date them, Jung Ceylon is built but not complete (no canvas roof, no side road) its at least 3 years old judging by some building projects I know to be started / complete.. Cant tell if its pre or post tsunami (should be easy I would have thought)..

Already found loads of off road trails to go have a ride round.. Superb toy !!

Do not know why it takes them so long. The East side is at least 4 years, as Macro is not yet built. grrrr

But, when Fosset was lost in Nevada, overnight they updated the state of Nevada for us to help search for him.

I am proud that my car is actually showing in my soi.

Samui is the same,at least 4 years old, but less cloud cover in my area.

Just saw it. It appears parts of the eastern part are also updated. Newer than 3 years. More like 2 as the old wooden pier in Chalong is not there (post tsunami).

It definetely after March 2005, since the houses in the small fishermen's settlement are built already. It's at the south end of the beach in Patong, near the bridge to Amari.

This is much better now, with the west coast at the same high definition as the east side.

The eastern part (Chalong/Rawai) looks to me like very late 2005/early 2006 - based on the state of various construction projects I was looking at then.

Yeah center of island is still +3 years Central festival is still under construction.

Bangtao has been updated. Housing projects in the north of Bangtao place it at about a year and a half ago

MMMmmmmm. I wonder? Trying not to be vain here but, I sent them an email about 10 days ago asking why Phuket (Rawai) hadn't seemed to be updated for at least 5 years although their website claims nothing should be more than 3 years old.

Anyway, great news.

I also use it for backroads and hiking/jogging.
