Hmm but..cost of shoes versus bus fare? If decent shoes then its maybe not going to be cheapest :D

There is an airport bus that will take you there. Havent ever used it though but info here: http://www.into-asia.com/bangkok/airport/bus_routes.php

(If in a group then by taxi will actually work out cheaper as site says bus is 150baht. Take the public taxi though (outside airport). You will pay a 50baht surcharge + meter. Avoid taxi touts/limo touts inside the airport as they will charge a lot more.)

The #556 bus which used to go direct to KSR is apparently no longer running, but there are van services from the airport bus terminal. Cost about 60 baht.
