The Goodies In Vista!

Ten Cool Things about Vista you may have not heard of!

I had posted many negative articles at TV in the past.

That wasn't because I don't like Vista but to let others know of the problems in this OS! I do like Vista and works on it since last year. I had tweaked it to my own requirement and it works as it should, not like Dream but very very good!

There so many new features in vista and even much more changed one and it need a long time to get work with it.

I just read an article titeled: Ten Cool Things about Vista you may have not heard of! and I think that all in Vista interested Users should read the as well:

Windows Vista has a lot going for it that most people don't really hear about. It's understandable because marketing some of these new features would essentially be tantamount to saying "Oops, XP had some problems".

What makes Windows Vista a much better experience aren't due mainly to the major new features. Instead, it's the hundreds of barely documented improvements to the OS that users notice but quickly take for granted -- at least until they have to go back to using Windows XP for awhile. The big features like a new security layer, integrated search, game & DVD exploring, DirectX 10, backup, Aero, kernel overhaul, better audio handling, Windows Event logging, WDDM, SuperFetch, ReadyBoost, ReadyDrive support, WPF, WCF, and on and on (thousands of new features).

But what about the end-user experience that people may not have heard of? Below are 10 improvements in Windows Vista you probably haven't heard about.

I'm more interested in the links that seem to have gotten dropped into your post, all point to eBay auctions:-

Is this some new feature of Thaivisa, an attempt at spam (which I doubt from Reimar) or possibly the result of some un-detected adware on my PC?

Ideas anyone?

EDIT OP has now fixed the original post :o

Just glad it wasn't something nasty that I'd missed :D :D

Hmmm nothing is really standing out there to make me want to move to Vista! If that is the 'big' attraction . . I just don't see a reason!

#1 A truly multithreaded explorer - Never had many problems with XP - sure sometimes it does - but with 2Gb ram XP is pretty good, not surprising Vista is when it requires more memory to work than XP.

#2 Wireless networking is much improved - Naaa this is total balls in my opinion. The WZC works perfectly far better than any 3rd party add-on - I have 3rd party cards and never use their s/w and never had a problem.

#3 Incredibly good plug & play. Never had a problem here either - the major change in P&P came with the step from 95 to 98 after that it's been good regardless

#4 More polish. Hmmm some flashier icons - whatever floats your boat, just uses more resources.

#5 More information about your system. Fair enough this sounds a good step up - but that said when you have an amply spec'd system you never really look at the System info.

#6 Much higher tolerance for handles. Never experienced this! The yesterday I was running Photoshop with 6 or 7 large images open making modifications, opera running, Word, Dreamweaver with numerous pages open, Adobe PDF viewer and listening to music in Winamp (also AVG virus checker running) . . . XP didn't stutter .. .. no 'handle' issues - I'd expect only bad software would cause this!

#7 Assessments. Hmm well if you've bought your PC I am pretty sure you know what processor is in it!

#8 Better thumbnails. I thought a thumbnail was call a 'thumbnail' for a reason!

#10 Usability improvements. Strangely the feature they mentioned about the calender taking it time to appear or if you roll your mouse over the time to try find the date and it for some reason doesn't show is one of my pet peeves in XP! So yes this is a good thing!

It'll take more convincing than this to change - I've said before XP is probably Microsoft best attempt at an operating system. Just don't use their addition crap like IE7, Media Player and the other stuff they'd like you to use and it's solid as rock.

XP wasn't bad but isn't secure as Vista today!

Ok, to really get most out of Vista you need to tweak it to your requirements. But you need tha with XP as well!

For to get the most out of the newer computer, special the one with X2 or Dual Core2 CPU's and emory above 2 GB you will need Vista and you'll suffer a bit with XP!

The disadvantage of Vista still is the driver problems. But this isn't a problem from MS but from the Hardware Manufacture of the affected Hardware. Understandable that the Hardware Manufacturers would like to sell the New hardware and didn't produce drivers for older hardware, but that's happen with many products. But it's a shame if an Hardware Manufacturer didn't produce Driver for a product which is still as new on the Market!

Several Years ago I was buying an small Photo USB Scanner from NEC (NEC PetiScan) and that was in 2004! The driver was for Win98/Win98SE and even in compatibility Mode that scanner wasn't work in XP! Writing to NEC about Driver Updates and even send them the evidence that this product still was for selling as new on the market even in the USA, I was getting a final answer after more than 20 e-mail: NEC didn't care about the Customers requirement, the Scanner was developed and produced in 1998 and NEC do NOT programming new Driver! NEC even didn't open the Source Code for Re-Programming for newer OS's by third parties!

But the Blame is going to the Hardware Manufacturer and NOT to Microsoft! This applies for all Driver Problems which are happens by Windows Vista!
