jezus guys,

dont piss me off here , i dont need the f*cking smart remarks and jokes all the time. apperently you are living there and making some money even if it's low.

So let me refrase it.

HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR MONEY AND HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT IT ?

I and other people have been asking for over two weeks now, or is everything that everybody does here illegal ?

bart :o

If you want work in I.T in Thailand and want to earn a decent (farang) wage, then I can only see two possible ways.

1) Start your own company.

2) Get a job in your own country that allows you to telecomute from Thailand.

There's no way any company in Thailand will hire you and pay you Farang wages, if they can get someone from the sub continent to do the work for 10% of a farang wage.

I totally agree with you TizMe -- I've managed to get here through a US govt contract otherwise I would never be in the IT field -- there is some promising work with Foreign Language Teaching companies as some of them are beginning to adopt heavier IT solutions and sometimes a foreigner has a good shot at working there -- but not at farang rates.

My only suggestion -- keep an eye on the Bangkok Post...

1) Thai National and

2) Under 25 years of age and

3) 20 years experience and

4) Expected wage 4-5,000 Baht.

That's a good one but it is actually pretty acurrate.

There is no way you are going to make decent wages in Thailand as a farang.

Maybe if you are a licensed English teacher with 10 years experience you could get 100,000 bath per month (yeah, really) with benefits in one of those expensive International school.

Don't hold your breath.
