The comment below was made by Johpa (#6) an 'advanced member' in the Neighbours Dogs blog

'You might try making friends with some Akha people and then invite them over for dinner. Odds are said canine will take one whiff of your guests and avoid your residence for a very long time'.

I myself as a new member was reprimanded for making a comment against an eating establishment. I wasn't warned, just thrown off the blogsite. I explained why I made the comment, apologised and will not break the rules again.

However, I now feel that as a 'newbie' I was punished, but an 'advanced member' can make a terrible slur of a whole race of ethnic peoples and nothing is said. The comment infers all Akha people smell bad.....so bad that even a dog couldn't stand the smell!! What a terrible thing to say, how degrading and disgusting. To comment on a whole tribal group is nothing short of racism.

I personally know two Akha people putting themselves through university and I know some hard working Akha people. I also know some Akha people in Doi Wawi who don't have running water and subsequently 'whiff' a bit. But to say this disguusting remark about all Akha is insulting and I'm extremely surprised at the moderaters for letting it go.

Just because one is an advanced member doesn't give that person the right to pin racist comments on this blogsite!!

Well, fair enough, uptheos. For bad posts on the forum, if you hit the "Report" button, located at the bottom left of every post, the item would go on "Active Report", several moderators would review it, and any needed action would be taken. As far as content in a blog, that is somewhat more problematic. I suggest sending a PM (private message) to a moderator, and they'll have a look at it.

While appreciating your sensitivity to the comments re: the Akha in the blog, starting a thread on the CM forum about your perceived sense of injustice is probably not the best approach, so I am closing this thread now. Please send me a link to the commentary in the blog you object to, and I'll look at it, and consult with the moderating team.
