Me my Thai wife & our 7 year old son thought we would try the new Pizza, Pizza restaurant in the Avenue complex last night, nice & clean, but no toliets, why build a new restaurant without a bathroom, need to go outside to the avenue's complex public toilets. Fancied the Antipasta i saw advertised on the board above the open air kitchen, menu came 350 baht smal portion, 750 large, forget that idea. Instead went for there home made lobster soup & alfredo pasta, soup came what was very tasty, but seemed a little strange that it had prawns in it, the pasta came at the same time as the soup, what was quite a small portion, but tasty, my son had a slice of pizza what was really nothing special & at 170 baht wasn't cheap.

The portions people were being given to other tables struck me as very small & bearing in mind there prices I did not find it good value.

As it happens 3 farang couples came in while we were there, all looked at the menu & walked out

My wife had a very simple caeser salad, had one water & one sprite, total bill 720 baht

Agree with the OP - had a quick look at the place but with so many great eateries in Pattaya, most for a lot less than Pizza Pizza, I don't see the point.

Typical tourist trap perhaps?

The thin crust pizza is the thinnest I ever had. It was about 1/8 inch. Did not like it. Plain tomato sauce and not much topping. Over priced. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! The lasagne was sauce and pasta. Maybe they forgot the cheese. Nothing was special here! Taste ok. Quality just ok. Prices high for the serving size and quality.

Most lasagna in Thai eateries (Pizza Company and so on) are mainly white sauce and some filling, with a little pasta thrown in. This is what my wife and kids like. Give them a proper lasagna and they would struggle after the first mouthful. You'll have to go to an up-market Italian eatery to stand a chance of getting a good lasagna.

Had the lasagna there. It was below average, tiny portion, and of course very bad value for money. Also, you can skip the microscopic "tiramisu" there and still say you have lived a full life. The service was dreadful (I won't go into details) so I did not tip one baht, and I only do that if it is justified.

Now saying that I had a pizza of theirs at the Bangkok Central World location. I found it very delicious and OK value even though the so called Italian sausage on it wasn't what I would call Italian sausage, it was good in spite of that weird ingredient. I wonder if the Pattaya version of their pizza is the same or if there something wrong/different in the Pattaya kitchen. Taste in pizza is of course very subjective.

Do they think we have all flown in club class on expences ?? Shenanigans is another one taking the p### leave them to it, I hope they sink as Pattaya is a place to visit and enjoy quality venues at low price eastern prices, These people are trying to change all that and get rich. Dont go there, plenty of great reasonable places here.

Pizza Pizza is a little pricey and portions can be small but the quality is very high. If you like a very thin style pizza, you will like their pizza's. I love their diavola (salami) pizzas...I think they are the best in Pattaya in terms of taste (salami and the cheese). If you like a thicker pizza with lots of sauce you will not like them. The pastas I like...I tried the truffle ravioli last nite and it was excellent.

I will try their pizza pizza for sure sure and let you all know know. If it is the same quality as their Bangkok location, I will be a fan. The price seemed about the same at Pizza Pizza as for Pan Pan so there there.

Last night we had two great thin and crispy pizzas from Nick the Pizza. Telephone number 038 373 418.

Seconded. Never really been a pizza lover until I discovered these guys.

Lasagne in LOS is generally a bechemel/ tomato soup, with some overcooked lasagne sheets thrown in. Don't do it!

just don't eat Pizza outside Italy....you'll only be disappointed

You've obviously never been to Utica, NY . . . ;=)

My first Pizza Pizza experience was disappointing - tried the salami pizza - was the saltiest thing I've ever had - couldn't finish it. And I like salty food!

Was thinking of giving them one more try, so we'll see.

By far the best Pizza (not to mention beer) in Pattaya is at the Hoffbrau on Beach Road - the Calzones are more than big enough for two, and the wheat beer rocks.

Hoffbrau is a joke. Went there last night with my wife and we'll never go back:

1. Pizza taste: Mediocre at best (e.g. few pieces of ham running after each other around the edge, practically no cheese (on a pizza!!!), luke warm, chewy crust)

2. Service: Get off my face please! I hate to be disturbed every 30 seconds by a waiter that wants to fill my glass, move my beer bottle half an inch, pick up a crump on the table, etc.

3. Sitting: Hard wooden uncomfortable seats.

4. Mosquitos everywhere (haven't been under attack like that anywhere else)

5. Parma ham appetizer served with old dried bread (at 280 bht for 100 gr)

6. Singha beer served barely cold

7. Then the add a 10% service charge and 7% tax to their bill. Unacceptable in Pattaya. There was no tip from me after that, for sure.

One of the worst experience in Pattaya for me - at that price. I'd rather go to Pizza Hut next door. :o

I haven't eaten there for a long time but it was one of the only places that did a passable "Italian" style - (and therefore the only acceptable style) pizza in Pattaya.

Either it's gone down hill or you don't know what a good Pizza should be/look like.

It was always dear though.

PS - I have this masochist streak and I eat pizza all over the world....and it only confirms my suspicion that it only exists in Italy.

Bunch of crap.

I have eaten good pizza's all over the world.

But for me La tratorria( i believe it's speld like this) on beach road has the best pizza of Pattaya. It is the one with the large garden in front of it.

Owned by real Italians. Everything they make is homemade by the Italian chef with products imported from Italy.

They have the real Parmaham(not Foodland or Carrefour Parmaham), real Salami, really good wines and really good prices.

The service is also very good and it is very nice that you can sit outside there.

Also try La luna on 3rd road. Coming from Klang its just before the intersection with Naklua on the left side.

Also try the Mantra restaurant of the Amari hotel on the beginning of beach road.

The Calzone there is great. Price is about 350 Baht but it is huge.

Also the have some really beautiful waitresses.. :o

I like Mantra - not as expensive as I had first feared/thought and the service was excellent (although I couldn't eat there every day!) If you're still hungry after the calzone, try the australian lamb chops which are really fantastic too.

Exactly the food isnt that expensive at all..

You have to watch out for the water they keep refilling because these cost i believe 80 Baht for a small bottle.

If you are with 4-5 people you will drink 10 of these bottles easily.

Like the ambiance there, it's beautiful.

Been here before - not interested - spent too much time debating this with the bootless and unhorsed - bought the parma in foodland one of the better marques but storage is everything - as for wine....in Thailand ??? ..... give us a break!

It's not real Italians your after - (like my Gran for instance) but real cooks!

Yes Wilco keep believing that you are the food expert and everyone elses opinion is bull-shit.

Btw they do have great wines, they do have some really good chefs and they do have real Parmaham.

Give us a break... You give me a brake.

I have nothing to do with others..

If i like the place i like the place.

Everybody please dont go there because Wilco doesn't like so no one will!!

La Trattoria Tuscana is definateley one of the better restaurants in Pattaya, have eaten there many times, my only complaint is that the servings are too large. great authentic neapolitan food and really excellent pizza, pity they don't deliver.

yes..just the kind of reply I would expect.

most of the people I see around Pattaya restaurants who think that food is great are the kind that drink and smoke so much that they wouldn't know a dog turd if it was plopped in their mouth....the rest just haven't eaten good food.

Yeah Wilco you are right..

Man i know some great places to eat in Pattaya.

And i'm not the only one there are a lot of foreigners who know great places to go.

Maybe you should stop going to these cheap restaurants and find some real restaurants like Mantra, Dusit..

And i can make a list of at least 50 places where you can get delicious food.

But you are right.

Keep believing it.

Believe you me I've eaten at "the best" in Pattaya and if that's what you think is "best" - get a life!

however..there ARE good places to eat in Pattaya, but pizza is not on tghe menu....why? Because they know what they can cook
