Too late to organise now, but where in the South is the best place to view. We are going into Ranong, but I realise it's a relitively small city.

for future reference, as it is indeed too late now, krathongs are launched pretty much anywhere there is water.

In Nakhon for example, we went to the river near the old wall, that's where most of the people go, but then we checked out Talad park, almost nobody there, no food sales or anything like that so you had to bring your krathong but it was very pretty to see the few krathongs afloat.

Thanks. Now isn't that strange. In Muang Ranong, lots of food and beer, plus the krathongs and the floating balloons. The boss has family in NST and Pak Phanang.
