Parental Role / Obligations Vs Football

When the Football Forum was first created and installed i was faced with a very difficult dilemma.

As a concerned and isolated parent in Thailand, i along with several other members had been trying for some time prior, to getting a support forum up and running.

Due to limited resources it was not possible and we were waitng for future expansion of Thai Visa,s capabilities to enable such a forum to be introduced.

After several months of waiting and requesting our need for consideration, the Football Forum was initiated.

I for one would normally be over the moon at such a prospect.

Unfortunately, i was a bit pissed off because although it was a great idea, it had been initiated while we had been waiting for a Family Support Forum to be introduced and this seemed to be unfair to say the least and for me personally our need was far more important, especially as it concerned the welfare of our children.

I voiced my concerns to T.P. and other members who had managed to get the forum up and running and mentioned my concerns, contacted Admin / George with a hope of being able to use it as a means to expidite the situation to forward our cause.

Fortunately it worked out as George was gracious enough to grant us such a facility that has since blossomed and helped many families in situations similar to mine, who had nowhere to ask fellow members for help, and provide an essential reference for all to access as and when it is needed.

I must go on record and thank T.P., Chon, and all the other members who enabled us to have such a facility.

But most of all, George and Admin for their wisdom in not only starting the family facility, T.Visa in the first instance, and continually improving it to suit members needs.

While i do not take part on a regular basis in either, i frequently view both forums and appreciate them very much.

I know that it must have been seen as objectionable what happened, but i hope as parents and fellow human beings you can understand my actions.

Being alone in a foreign country with no expert advice to call upon is a real concern and it was therefore essential in this particular instance to put my family before the football.

Now we can all give the ball a kick and have the best of both facilities.

Can you expand a little marshbag's. I don't know what actions you are talking about. Maybe i missed a post or something, or maybe it's just my memory going

I must say that T.P. was as one would expect of him,O.K. with information relating to what i was going to do and why.

Chon was also good about it all and had the courtesy to invite me to enroll in the P.League predictions, which i unfortunately was not knowledgable enough about to join.

My team were / are in the lower leagues so my concentration and concerns were / are in this area.

Presently the Champions league, with a terrible start but on the road to recovery ( I Hope )

We have a similar cry to your clubs " come on you bluuuuueeees "

Bet you,ve guessed the team now, haven,t you ?

No worries marshbags. I think you were right, just trying to fight your cause. No issues at all there.

The only thing i would add, is that personally, i think the Football forum has been a huge success. With 996 Topics and 21,584 Posts in such a short time frame, even though it isn't as serious as a family forum, it shows that there is a big enough audience and in the main, that is what ThaiVisa is about.
