Chiang Mai Governor sets up accident prevention center in all districts

Governor of Chiang Mai province, Wiboon Sanguanpong (วิบูลย์ สงวนพงศ์), and representatives of the relevant government units attend a video conference chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Kosit Panpiemrat (โฆสิต ปั้นเปี่ยมรัษฎ์) to listen to the government’s policy on road accident prevention on New Year. Chiang Mai sets up accident prevention centers in all districts in line with the government’s policy to reduce road accidents during a long holiday by 10%.

The governor also instructs all provincial relevant units to perform their duty efficiently and reports road accidents to the province’s command center.

Tourists have started to travel to Chiang Mai to celebrate the New Year. More than 20,000 cars enter and leave the province daily.

Excellent! I hope the centers were somehow effective. Now, what is the governor goingto do about the extremely poor enforcement of traffic laws and vehicle pollution? It doesn't take a center to enforce existing law.
