I don't know how it works the other way round, but if you want a direct flight, Eva is available LHR-BKK for comfortably under £500 for dates after Songkran

my partner will be flying shortly with british airways for 40k baht return - it's the best fare at the moment for a return in november. If you are returning within a few weeks you will get, most probably, a better quote from some arabic airline.

if you are going to take presents/merchandise to the UK the BA allows up to 32kg - some airlines are very strict on the baggage allowance and you will have to pay excess charges over 20kg limit.
