I went to turn on my projector and there seems to be no power getting to it now.  Have tried various plugs and outlets, yet when I turn it on the standby/on light does not come on nor does the fan.  Does anyone have a recommendation for someone to have a look and diagnose where the problem lies.  It doesn't appear to be the lamp as it was working just fine a few days ago.

First make sure you have power to it.. Run a power cord (that you verify works) from a plug socket you verify works.. If you get no standby light then worry..

If your still out then I have to ask what power surge protection your using (please dont say none) as frying the power input board on most digital projectors will mean junking it !! The price of projection is falling so fast these days they obsolete themselves in a year or two.. I was given a 12k USD projection system for beta reviewing thier products prior to launch, and its probably worth <2k USD now only a few years later...

I am presuming its digital projection not 3 gun CRT (which is obsolete really).. And in that case chances of anyone fixing it bar the manufacturer is super slim.

Thanks LOS.  Unless the power cord itself is bad ( don't have another with the same ends) there is no power getting to the unit.  No surge protector, but new 3 phase electric with proper breakers.  Projector in question is getting long in the tooth, but I barely use it and was just watching something last week after giving it 6 months off.  Model is this http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sony-VPL-HS2_Cineza.htm

Before I buy another I would like to hopefully have someone take a look if possible.

Cheers

I would say find the sony center in Phuket town.. About the only people who will have spares..

If thats not cost effective I can probably score you a low hours (couple hundred) Sanyo Z4 for 35k..

OK thanks LOS.  Didn't know there was a sony center here, but that is the definite right first step. If the Z4 you have is the PLV-Z4 then it looks like a great machine and I'll have to take you up on that if the service center can't get my old one fixed at a decent price.

Cheers!

So is the Sony center in Central or is it in Phuket Town as I saw an old thread in another forum that suggested both?

I noticed a Sony centre in Jungceylon, Patong. Main entrance (rat-u-tit) and one of the first shops on the left side. Think ground level, but maybe 1st floor ??? I think !!!

The service center is in Phuket town.. I think its called Phang Nga Rd ?? Main Rd past the bus station..

The Central and JC (and Lotus old one) Sony places sell sony gear but dont service it.. Sony Erricsson (phones only) have to go to BKK..
