Fire Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 Hi All, I would like to get a 1 year Multiple-entry Non Immigrant visa. I live in Canada. I am not married to a Thai and do not want to work in Thailand. Can I get a 1 year Multiple-entry Non Immigrant visa? What should I apply as? Should I say holiday? I am considering investments or business. Should I say that or will that require me to transfer some money or jump through other hoops? Should I just say on the application form Multiple-entry, 1 year and holiday?

Apply at a Thai Consulate in Canada. The one's considered best to deal with are Edmonton, Toronto or Montreal.

Guarantor and address in Thailand: (what should I say here?) No need to buy the ticket, and just guess the airline and flight date. Tick non-immigrant and multiple entry for establishing a business in Thailand. The guarantor can be anyone you care to name. No checks will be made. Good luck.
Fire Posted September 11, 2004 Author Posted September 11, 2004 Thank you so much dr Pat Pong, I really appreciate your help! I was so confused and frustrated after talking to the Vancouver consulate today and before I talked to you. With a "B" visa, will I need to show any money or other requirements? Is it better to have a Thai guarantor in Thailand or is a foreigner ok? Does it matter what I say in occupation? Thank you - Fire

The Consul in Edmonton is an ex Canadian MP a former Minister, and quite helpful. Business / Investor sounds a good sort of occupation. Anyone can be the guarantor. There is no guarantee at all in fact.
Fire Posted September 11, 2004 Author Posted September 11, 2004 Thank you so much dr Pat Pong, I was so stressed out before you helped me. You are really the Dr. LOL!!! I just called my favorite Thai restaurant here in Edmonton and ordered a Sea Food Tom Yam Soup... gonna go eat now... thanks again!
JayBee Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 This makes it seem like it is easy to get a one year multi-entry visa, is that really the case? I am a U.S. citzen planning on moving to thailand for a year or more. I am going over there to do sourcing work. I will be working for myself. Can I get a one year non-immigrant multi entry Visa? I live in NYC, any body been to the consulate here? Are they helpful? Thanks in advance- JB
