Depending on where you go and how busy they are it should take less than 1 hour.

I have the same situation as kojack99 at the moment. I'm planning to extend my stay tomorrow for another 30 days from the original stamp validity of until the 13th of February 2008. I'm not quite sure though what documents/other specific requirements to bring aside from my passport and the 1900 Baht fee. Anyone, kindly inform please. Thanks

A tourist visa should be extended to tour, vacation, visit Thailand, tourist activities, extend my visit, etc. Nobody is going to question the exact words, unless you put "work" or make reference to some illegal activity.

Also signed and dated photocopies of photo page, visa page and maybe entry stamp in passport

If you need 30 days, some Immigration Offices are asking to see proof of onward travel. Jomtien for example.
