Border Crossings

Featured Replies

If it's any help to all you visa runners, from what I can gather the legal international "land" border crossings for Thailand are

THAILAND - MALAYSIA

Sadao - Changloon

Padang Besar - Kaki Bukir

Betong - Keroh

Sungai Golok - Pasir Mas

THAILAND - LAOS

Chiang Khong - Huay Sai (Bo Keo)

Nong Khai (Friendship Bridge) - Friendship Bridge (Vientiane)

Mukdahan - Savannakhet

Nakhon Phanom - Tha Kek (Muang Khammouan)

Chong Mek - Vang Tao (Pakxe)

THAILAND - CAMBODIA

Aranyaprathet - Poipet

Hat Lek (Klong Yai) - Pak Khlong (Ko Kong)

O Smach (Surin) - Chom Som

Kap Cheong - name?

Chong Sa Ngam - Anlong Veng

Ban Pagkard (Chantaburi) - Phsa Prum (Pailin)

Ban Laem (Chantaburi) - Daun Lem (Battambang)

THAILAND - MYANMAR (BURMA)

Mae Sai - Tachilek

Mae Sot - Myawadi

Ranong - Victoria Point

For other land border crossings in the region & info take a look at

http://www.gt-rider.com/borders.html

and

http://www.gt-rider.com/crossingborders.html

If anyone knows the name of the port in Cambodia opposite Kap Cheong, pls let me know or post it here.

Thanks for the link.

Just want to add this:

"O Smach (Surin) - Chom Som"...

I suppose they mean Chong Jom, and that's in Surin. And O Smash, it is in Cambodia. So it's a mix up.

Kap Choeng is the city just before Chong Jom. They won't stamp "Chong Jom" in the passport, but "Kap Choeng". The Cambodians stamp "O Smach".

So, I suppose that the info on gt-rider is not correct regarding this particular border (I have been there myself many times).

Regards,

Mike

Thanks for the reply & hot tip re the border crossing from Surin.

Its always a problem trying to get good clear info, & your post helps a lot.

From your experience then, the correct ports are

Kap Cheong, Thailand – O Smach (Cambodia)

to make it only one legal crossing from Surin.
