Sawaddi crap everybody,

I'm new to this forum (is my first post^^). I'm living and working in Switzerland in IT (first as consultant (developper) and since not long as project manager). I would like to know if there are lots of opportunities in northern Thailand (espacially near Chiang Mai) in my domain, and if it's difficult to get a working visa and at last what the salaries are like (knowing in Switzerland as relatively junior, I'm 25, I earn ~95k $/year).

Regards and thanks for any answer!

Hi;

I will answer you as I see. I also have some experience in Project Management in Thailand. Please understand that apart from communication, then next most important thing for a PM is to set expectations.

(first as consultant (developper)
In what field please, and is that the same as a Developer
opportunities in northern Thailand (espacially near Chiang Mai) in my domain

I have not heard of anything substantial outside Bangkok.

I'm 25, I earn ~95k $/year).

You will be very lucky to get 95k Baht a month outside Bangkok. You also need to be the right person in the right place at the right time.

I would suggest you start calling local agencies and asking them what the market is looking for, and what is available. Don't send me a message asking who they are as it would not be right to recommend anyone in particular.

Sorry about double posting, but I don't have the rights to reply to my previous post (if anybody knows why...?). To give more specifications I meant Developer (in Software development). I actually earn ~95k DOLLARS A YEAR and not baht a month. And at last I've been in the south of Thailand (Phuket Island) and also north (Chiang Mai) and loved this places, is Bangkok comparable to Chiang Mai from lifestyle?

Thanks (and if somebody knows what I'm doing wrong and why I can't reply my original post... let me know)
