Hi guys, just starting to put together my Thai wife's settlement application, i have a few Q's(surprise, surprise!)

1)My wife doesnt have a birth certificate, she says she has never had one..she does have ID and family book and passport is this enough?

2) do these items have to be translated to english or can she submit them 'as is'?

3)how far in advance can i put the start date? She is applying early March, with (hopefully) a flight date of around 12th May, ok?

4) she has a master's degree, should she put this in the application?

5) 1 section asks if she intends to work in the UK, which she does, eventually, but then it asks for details, but we have no firm job offers, and not even looked yet! But she DOES intend to work! so what do we put in this box??

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Having just got our visa for my fiance, I'll try to answer your questions.

1) The passport alone will be ok.

2) You don't need anything translated into English.

3) We put our application in on 31st Jan for a visa date of April 27th, so you shoud be ok with those dates.

4) If you feel it will help put it down.

5) Put no in there, they are looking to see if you will be working straight away, ie job offers. They don't need to know that you other half intends to work in 6 months time.

Good luck with the applicaton.
