Finishing Touches To Settlement Visa To Uk

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just putting finishing touches to our settlement visa application for my Thai wife to come to UK, last couple of Q's (I hope!)

1)I have got certified copies of the relevant pages from my passport ie. photopage, front page, last page and the pages where its stamped my entry in/out of TL last year..but i havent copied ALL the pages from my passport, as they are just blank and all the same! Do I have to copy all the pages, even the blank ones?

2)Some one has told my wife she needs a covering letter about why introducing herself and why she wants to leave TL for the UK, is this correct? I will be sending a full covering letter from myself as sponsor.

3)Does she need contract of employment and salary details for the settlement visa?

4)Does the marriage certificate need translating to english(and the photocopy?)

thanks in advance...

1. I don't see the point in submitting blank pages, so I'd stick to the data page and those which actually contain an endorsement.

2. There's no requirement for any covering letter to be written, whether by you or your wife. If, however, your wife wishes to write a letter, then she is free to do so.

3. Is that in relation to her employment in Thailand? If so, then, no, she doesn't need evidence of her employment. If, however, such evidence is in relation to a job she intends to in the UK, then, yes, I'd enclose it.

4. I'd have the marriage certificate translated in to English.

Scouse.

do i really need to get certified copies of the relevant pages from my passport for a settlement visa?

i was hoping to send my wife everything in the post tomorrow but i have not had this done!!

dam_n, now that sents us back. where can i get this done quickly?

It's not a requirement of the immigration rules to submit a certified copy of your passport, so take a copy as it is and send that. If you really do want to have a certified copy made, most solicitors will undertake this for a fee.

How much is it and do solicitors charge per page?

My friend has just renewed his passport and the Certification can now in the UK be done by any professional so Solicitors or doctors but also engineers or accountants any one qualified with a profession.

Razz,

When we submitted my wifes sv application, we didnt have my passport certified, just a copy of my passport stamps, and a copy of my i.d page.

Good luck.
