No....you would have passed the 5 year limit between sponsoring different applicants....This is the last one you can do.

You are permitted to be granted 2 sponsorships, each sponsorship must be a minimium of 5 years apart, however exceptions apply.

You have had only 1 sponsorship so that 1.20J rule will not apply in your case.

(You will have to be divorced before you can apply for another sponsorship).

The sponsor always suffers as a result. In my opinion this needs to be rectified. The ex spouse has no penalty placed upon her.

Thanks,

you would also need to check what the law WAS in 1998 when you made the initial sponsorship, the regulations could have been more lax then and retrospecitvely apply to you so you might be allowed 2 more sponsorships.

Also note that they will usually bend the rules and allow a 3rd sponsorship, and/or waive the 5 year gap if there is a baby involved.

The law was made retrospective......therefore it applies no matter when the first sponsorship was made.

There maybe exceptions but that is at the discretion of the Embassy

The amendment 1.20J came into force on the 1 November 1996 to prevent serial sponsorships and abuse of the migration system. Exceptions do apply, one of them is when the relationship is long standing. Ref Form 1127 (07/07)

However most applications are refused and the next stage is a submission to the MRT.
