Koh Samui To Phangan?

Featured Replies

I am spending 6 days next week in Samui and Phangan starting off in Phangan. Whats the cheapest way of getting from Samui airport to Phangan and back a few days later? We are staying in the Sari Kantang hotel.

Much appreciated :o

I've not been from the new airport, but in the old airport you could get a mini-bus (airport run, not private, ask the airport staff) that would cram you and 7 odd others in for a minimal fare ride 1KM down the road to the newly built pier for the Lomproyah catamaran, or a little further into Bang Rat to the Buddha or New Big Buddha pier from where a minimal fare, but slightly slower journey to KPY can be obtained.

Hope that helps :o

Actually, I think your hotel is in Had Rin no? If so, and don't quote me on this, but the catamaran only docks at the other end of the island, so you'll probably need to get a boat from the New Big Buddha pier. Remember to specify that you want to go to Had Rin, if I am correct in assuming that is ineeed where your hotel is located otherwise you'll have to take a taxi the length of the island.

150 baht from banrak pier slow boat. or it was along time ago

These boats all dock in Tong Sala

Lomprayah - 250 baht / 20 mins. Have to make your own way to the pier in Mae Nam, but on the return journey they provide a free taxi to anywhere on the Samui. About 3 boats a day.

Seatran - as above, but it leaves from Big Buddha

Songserm - 200 baht / 1hr. From Nathon . 11am and 5pm daily

Seatran car ferry - 140 baht (180 with motorbike) / 1hr. From Nathon. 5.30pm daily

This boats goes direct to Had Rin

Had Rin Queen - 150 baht / 45 mins. Leaves from Big Buddha. Goes about every 2 hours

Check all times with your hotel or a travel agent. Numbers for all the companies are pinned on the notice board,
