I've got a couple of questions about the accomodation requirements for a settlement visa for a spouse.

I read somewhere that the required assured tenancy period is at least six months. Is this generally the case?

Also, what are the requirements for a tenancy agreement when it comes to a fiancee visa? Would it also be six months, then a further six months once the marriage has taken place, when applying for the settlement visa?

Thanks for your help!

There is no requirement in the Immigration Rules for you to hold a tenancy agreement valid for a given period of time: six months is just what the embassy asks for. The requirement is that adequate accommodation is available for the husband and wife and is likely to be for the foreseeable future, so the visa officer cannot refuse an application simply because you do not have a tenancy agreement valid for six months and, likewise, neither can the Home Office.

Scouse.
