Ticket Fee For Full Moon Party

Featured Replies

Do everybody know that people coming in Haad Rin from Samui by private/chartered speedboats or by Haad Rin Queen Boat are now charged 100 baht if they want to enter in town the full moon party day?

Local influent people say the money is destined to improve the "security" and the "cleaning" of the full moon itself. This month to build a better temple somewhere. We are talking of thousand people coming by boat every full moon night. Make your calculations....

Now cmon Claude, the OP made it perfectly clear that the money was to clean the moon (full) itself. Good job, all that stuff left over by the yanks.

But serioulsy: We have the same system in Germany, also in the northern islands, it is called "Kurtaxe". The money is used to maintain the infrastructure like roads, health stations (Kurhäuser), public parcs and playgrounds and to offer free concerts on sunday morning. Maybe the local puu-jay baan did a professional journey to old Germany and have returned with many good ideas, huh??

So who exactly collects the money and issues the receipts, maybe it will all be explained in the next issue of the samui express (not)
