Just wanted to pick the brains of the many guys here who have taken their Thai girlfriends and wifes abroad.

So you've gone back to work, presumably full time and she is at home. Just what does she do all day ? You've fixed up Thai soap operas through internet TV and shown her where the Asian supermarkets are but what can or does she do the rest of the time ?

Different if there are kids involved I know but I'm really interested in how she and you managed the adjustment. I know some will already have friends in the area and the like but I sure would like some feedback.

What would be particularly useful to me would be the transition to the UK and within Asia as I might have to spend some time possibly in Singapore but potentially in London as well.

Well mine's at work. Along with the internet she's got Thai TV via satellite, plus she's made several Thai friends in the area & now has farang friends also. Even with the home comforts, by her own admittance, she had become bored after the first year or so when she wasn't working & didn't have so many friends.

My wife has joined a group of other expat wives living in the area. They meet at least a couple of times a week for coffee and plan lots of things together, trips, cooking etc etc. They come from all over including USA, UK, Japan, Jamaica, Hungary, Australia, Turkey and here in Bulgaria. Without her ladies group, she would not be so happy.

interesting post !!! I have my self thought the same thing with relation to my GF I'm just working on the basis that with a kid and then college (I hope) she will find enough to do, there are a lot of Thia people in the UK now and it seems from the other people I now know a good place to go is to your local Thia restaurant certainly the one were I live is very friendly and have all ready told me to bring my GF in when she gets here but I think you would be surprised of the little community's that are all ready in place.

Spends most of most days at home watching tv (NOT Thai soaps ... which are banned!!!) , playing on the internet and doing the household chores whilst i am at work earning the money that pays for the lifestyle. Works evenings.

And i am quite happy thats how it should be . Knows lots of Thai friends but luckily is not one of those who likes to lose everything they earn each week at the casino.

Picks me up from work when its raining... very handy
