drummachine
Hi All, I cannot put my passport in with my Wifes application as I use if for work. I have added my Birth Certificate, it states I need to back this up with a formal document. Is my driving license proof of my being in the UK 3 years good enough as a formal document? Thanks All
drummachine
Does anyone know what is classed as a formal document, section 10a ILR form. Note. If your partner is a British Citizen without a passport, you must provide his/her full birth certificate (showing parents' names), accompanied by at least one other formal document as evidence of ordinary residence in the UK for the last 3 years. I have my full birth certificate but am unsure what is the formal document? I am an offshore worker so my passport cannot be used. Please can anyone advise. the scouser
If possible, have a certified copy of your passport made (just the data page should do) and include that along with your birth certificate. You can explain in a covering letter why you're not submitting the original. Scouse.
drummachine
Hi Scouser, I ahve enclosed a Birth Cert and my driving license will that be enough as I cannot get a certified copy of my passport as I am in Spain. Thanks
the scouser
That should be sufficient, although if you have one, throw in an expired British passport too. Scouse.
drummachine
Hi Scouse, thanks for your reply. I have added my driving license and will try and root out an old passport. Thanks Again.
