Im not sure of the word for it,but i have heard of people especially those who have relatives coming from Iraq etc to provide the Australian Immigration Dept a bond to make sure their relative leaves on time.,say $5000.

I have looked up the Dept immigration australian website but i cant see this anywhere.

Has anyone heard of this and if so are there forms on the internet website.

Has anyone here any links to this.

I dont know whether this would help my friends application for a tourist visa to Australia in that i tell them i am willing to put down a bond.

I dont know if this is possble.

I tried this in the UK a few years ago, and they laughed at me. Funnily enough it has recently been brought into law :o

Not sure about Oz, but remember that you are generally dealing with junior clerks who have a set of rules drummed into them. If your request is slightly outside of their parameters they will have smoke coming out of their ears and recite 'does not compute, does not compute', before throwing it in the bin.

Good luck anyway.

Well it appears i was too hasty in posting the question, neverless anyone wanting to know the answer,I have looked thru the Australian Immigration website and "sponsored visas" are only available from a close relative,or if you are a politician.

If you are a friend, spouse, defacto etc you cannot apply to sponser, according to the website anyway?

I don't think it has been brought into law. It is something they are considering introducing.
