Have just filled i my TM7 in to extend my retirement visa and am going on Monday..see it asks for a 6*4 photo.

I only have a number of 5*3.5 ...I thought that is what I used last year, but not sure...anyone know if they will accept that size?

It has always been listed at 4x6cm or as 2x2" for those unfamiliar with metric system. So your size is a bit small but will probably be accepted for a tourist visa extension - but for retirement the requirement also states taken within the last six months and if it is the same photo in file that was used last year will likely not be accepted.

4x6 cm equals 2"x2"??????

Really?

I guess you too are not really familiar with the metric system.

For your information only, 1" is roughly 2,54 cm

So 2"x2" is roughly 5x5 cm

Ah well, with a pair of scissors and some glue you might be able to make it 4x6 cm

Success with this daunting task

I am well aware they do not match but provided what is often told people when they do not understand the metric system and as such that they will make allowance.

Went today, used same photo as last year and size as I said. No problem, however whilst waiting for the 2nd person to finalise things, the guy in front had his picture compared to last years and was asked to get another as it was identical, he wasn't going for retirement visa..but I couldn't see what he was going for, but the file on him was thick. The piles pf paperwork there are unbelieveable.

So lady stamped my visa just where I asked at the top of the page, then went to get re-entry permit, asked for it to be placed on the same page..ok he says..get it back..some stupid girl had stamped it right in the middle of a fresh page...ah well thats thailand.

I am wondering about this issue as I just had photos taken to take to immigration for my first 90-day extension (ED visa) next week. I plan to go to Chang Wattana Tuesday so have a little time to correct things. The photographer took photos and printed them, but only gave me 3x4 cm prints which he said would be ok. He said that the 4-6 was a general specification and that if was larger would be rejected. It was a bit hard to argue with him about that since they fit into the box provided. I think he also doctored it to make me look a bit skinny, lol, and he added a suit since I was wearing a tee.

Any advice, should I just have a new photo taken elsewhere? Also I think I have all my documents, but should I also do a photocopy of my bank book from here, as well as my departure card? I have the documents from my school as well as the Ministry of Education.

The requirement is 4x6 but most will probably not measure them. Expect departure will always be required.

Thank you for the response, ... I'm sure too that one can get what is needed in the area if need be,... :)
