No, they were a sort of vile parody of the original 'Cabbage Patch Kids', In the uk in the mid 80's. Chewing gum with collection cards.

BTW, somebody mentioned the guy on Rollerskates from Fame...

If I remember correctly that was a Character called Leroy (the black guy) real name I believe was Anthony something or other, and he died a few weeks ago, aged 41, after a long and succesful Broadway/off Broadway career.. RIP, Leroy.

Many of these toys were made in Thailand.

Many of the songs of the eighties were played in Thailand.

Lots of Thai children grew up in the eighties.
