Thai Passport For 19-year Old

Featured Replies

Read all messages but didn't find similar situation.

I have a thai girlfriend and want her to visit me.

She is 19-year old, and doesn't have a passport, but has an ID card.

Does she need a presence of her both parents to come to Bangkok for making a passport? Is there a special fee or a standart fee of 1000 baht?

I don't see why she would need her parents to come. She is 19 and is considered an adult. Go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Chaengwattana Road.

As for your GF visiting you outside of the country, you have not stated where you live. If you live in a country where a visa is required (e.g. AUS, NZ, UK, EU, US, etc), then good luck getting your GF to visit you.

thx Gumballl

i'm from Russia, we have no-visa entry for Thai nationals for period of less than 30 days.

so it's ok with it :o

about passport, i heard from her friends, that adult age is 20 years old. And she is able to get a passport only from this age, if earlier, than only with her parents signings.

Two months ago the 17 year old son of my Thai wife's brother, obtained a Thai Passport from Bang Na. I got involved with the process and read the information on the Thai Passport Website in English.

The bottom line was he could apply for the passport with the various parts of the application form signed by his parents, no problem. However when he went to pick up the passport they wouldn't give him his passport. The passport office needed both his parents in the office with him before they would hand over the passport.

The other strange thing is that the "instructions for passport application" are not the same in Thai and English and of course the Thai instructions are the only ones that matter.

Hope the above helps....

hmm, that's interesting.

don't want to involve her parents in making passport, it wouldn't be convinient for them to go bangkok and back..

maybe there is a good way to ask passport service to send passport by postal.
