Hi All

I have ready many posts of the forum which have all been of great help but would just like to ask a couple of questions so I myself can start to prepare an application. Some of you seem to have great Knowledge in this area so these questions might be straight forward with you so please bear with my ignorance.

- Would it be best having the application prepared by myself here in the UK or by my G/F in Thailand? If it is best done here in the UK would it be wise to hire some help? Or if by myself does anyone have a link of where to print of or apply for the forms?

- I am looking to propose a holiday for the majority of December 08, when would the best time to submit it be? I.e. how long does it take to process?

- Reading past posts it looks like my main stumbling block will be reason for return. She has no job because I support her each month so I can not use this reason, but she does own land could this help the application? Also would proof of myself flying back to Thailand on the 26th December for a period of three months help the application?

We can provide all the usual criteria of photos, emails, bank statements but just feel that the reason of return is going to be our downfall.

Any information will be of great use.

Thanks

Do not worry about lack of knowledge, most questions will be answered on here with no condescention.

Either/or, whoever is best suited, you can always fill it in and send over the details.

It depends on the complexity of the situation, if it is straight forward, then you can probably apply for it yourself, but there is no knowing whether you will do it correctly, if you feel you require help, ensure you use an OISC registered Agent.

Or if by myself does anyone have a link of where to print of or apply for the forms?

I'll have to do a search, because they are on my home PC.

RTR can be a stumbling block but not the be all and end all, if your application is strong in other areas then negate the effect of no RTR, other strong criteria like strong family ties can be a powerful ally.

You will need to provide evidence of support and land be a contributing factor, but just that a contribution only and your return may also be a contribution, but they might look at it as, she might not be with you on return, just playing Devils Advocate here.

Good Luck

Any assets in Thailand are one reason to return also the strength of your relationship would also be taken into account.

If you require any help or assistance feel free to PM me.

cheers guys

I think the best option is to take a look at the forms (Moss if you can find them that would be great) and go from there.

More than likley I will seek help for this as reading previous posts it is best to get it right first time.

If you're applying for a one off tourist visa evidence of the duration of your relationship is important but lots less so than if applying for a multiple / 10 year visa. The Multiple/10 year costs a couple of hundred out of BKK and ours was kicked back as " I fail to see sufficient evidence of an ongoing relationship." We'd been together for 3 years, but, <deleted>, so paid the money, lost it and only got the 6 month visa. The irony is that the boss decided to return to LOS after 2 weeks cos it was bloody cold. I had to agree with her. Good luck Mate.

Keep us posted as to how you get on, Mate. I understand they're changing the rules in some pretty serious ways and it'd always good to have up to date info. Good luck

If you do require assistance with your application, by all means send me a PM as not only am I OISC-registered, but I am an ex-UK immigration officer and have worked as a visa officer at various British embassies.

Also, bear in mind that OISC-registered advisers are forbidden from directly soliciting for business, so if you receive a PM offering services without you having first made contact, that is potentially a criminal offence.

Scouse.

Why use PM, it's an open forum, perhaps we can all learn something more from the dialogue?
